Chengdu Leshan Giant Buddha & Huanglongxi Old Town Day Tour

Fun and exciting trip! Lots of walking and hiking. Being able to speak Putonghua is an advantage. Everyone was very nice and friendly.

convenient way to visit Leshan Buddha and ancient town. be aware that guides don’t speak English and most likely nobody else on the tour will. if you don’t speak Chinese you’ll miss out on a lot of information but the guides were sending me important details by WeChat throughout the tour so it wasn’t a problem. bus was comfortable and pick up from hotel on time.

We enjoyed this day trip. Except the weather was not great, rainy and cold, and the time management could be better. The tour guide for the Sichuan Leshan Giant Buddha is knowledgeable about the Buddha. Besides the general knowledge about the Buddha she answers people’s questions and personal needs to select the correct 護身符 to balance the personal short. Yet, there were many other people ，who did not need to purchase 護身符，had wait in the cold and rain for a long time. Because the people interested in 護身符needed time to receive the personal notes to select right the 護身符 accordingly. I don’t have the solution for this. Because the buses parking lot is limited. Otherwise I would suggest to have the people, who weren’t interested and buying in 護身符, off from the cold and rain and wait in the bus.

Very nice trip. Easy walking up to the hill. Not as hard as described by people. Worth the walk! The Leshan Buddha is magnificent! My tour guide 小夏， 小许 very knowledge and care about everyone in the group.The drivers are also very patient!

Before the tour day, they will contact you on WeChat to make an appointment. The tour guide speaks Chinese and the tour guide at the Big Buddha place also speaks Chinese. So I couldn't understand what you were saying. The advantage is convenience. The leshan big Buddha is very beautiful and magnificent. I like!

Playful and exciting. Good service. Really excellent. It's a really magnificent tour to climb the Big Buddha. The lunch was very good. You have to try it once.

This is a very convenient way to visit two places at once, offering good value for money. Our group was small, only 7 people. The transportation was good, and the staff was always reachable. The downside was that no one spoke English. The guide shared a lot of interesting information, but we didn't understand any of it. There was no information provided for foreigners. The food was terrible, and the restaurant was awful. We really liked Huanglongsi town; we were given 1.5 hours to visit, but it wasn't enough time, we wished we could have stayed longer. The morning transfer was 15 minutes late picking us up from the hotel, even though we were asked to be punctual. This tour is probably better suited for Chinese tourists. For foreigners, the plus side is that you can visit two places in one day without having to worry about how to get there. My recommendation: at least some information in English is needed.

Journey started at 6am, end at 6.15pm. Lead by main tour guide Mr Wu and scenic tour guide Ms Liu. Rating: Tour Guides = 5 star (very warm and friendly approach) Scenic (leshan giant buddha)= 5 star ,(huanglongxi ancient town) = 4 star (crowded with local because its Saturday) lunch = 4 star (simple but justified the price we paid for the tour and very big portion too). we do stop by at jade store for a short time after giant buddha scenic but don't worry no pressure at all for us to buy any. btw I scroll the shop around by my own willingness and I felt the price is not inflated and they do have many price range to suit own individual. Overall worth the price, valued for money and very enjoyable trip.

I loved the tour. I was the only tourist, and everyone was friendly and generous! The guides used a translator to convey important information, such as breaks and rest stops. It was a very enjoyable day.
