Reviews
We are a couple from Hong Kong who participated in the Sendai Zao Fox Village & Zao Snow Monsters Day Tour on March 5, 2026, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. First, the meeting point at Sendai Station was very clear and easy to find. Our tour guide, Yama-san, was already there waiting before the scheduled time, which immediately put us at ease. He is a Japanese guide who can communicate in Mandarin, and his arrangements for the entire day were meticulous and thoughtful. During longer drives, he would kindly remind everyone to use the restroom beforehand. Upon request, he could also arrange rest stops with the driver. The mountain road to Mount Zao was quite winding, and my partner experienced some motion sickness. Yama-san even prepared small snacks for motion sickness, which was incredibly considerate. There was also an intern from Taiwan, arranged by the travel agency, accompanying us. Both staff members were very friendly, which quickly helped my partner, who is usually a bit shy, relax. We all enjoyed pleasant conversations throughout the journey. Although the snow monsters had already begun to melt due to the weather that day, the entire experience still felt well worth the money. For lunch, before heading to the Fox Village, there weren't many dining options on Mount Zao. Yama-san specifically recommended a delicious restaurant at the foot of the mountain, and it turned out to be truly excellent. Upon arriving at the Fox Village, Yama-san and the intern continued to assist with all the big and small details of the itinerary, making the entire trip smooth and effortless. After the tour, they even proactively offered suggestions for our unarranged travel plans, which were very practical. Overall, this was a trip where we felt well-cared for and full of pleasant surprises. We highly recommend it.
It was a long-awaited trip. The Japanese person in charge chatted with everyone through the translator along the way. We arrived at the destination safely. We had a lot of fun. The staff were very friendly and polite. It is worth recommending 👍🏻
First, gather at Sendai Station, then take the Snow Monster bus up Mount Zao. Upon arriving at the summit of Mount Zao, there's only 15 minutes for taking photos; any longer and your time is up! Plus, the snow is so deep, reaching mid-thigh, making it difficult to walk, so you can't really take many pictures. I recommend participating in other cable car climbing experiences instead. As for the foxes at the Fox Village, they are very aggressive, constantly fighting and running around haphazardly! My wife accidentally dropped her glove on the ground, and a sly fox immediately stole it. A staff member helped retrieve it, and we repeatedly apologized to the staff, but it still resulted in us being scolded! Although they are animals and difficult to control, we also unintentionally dropped the glove! So, overall, the feeling is just average! But the tour guide was very attentive to everyone and took excellent care of us. I was quite satisfied with that!
The itinerary planning is very good, I just hope that the Japanese local tour guide can give more introduction.
