Review for: Course B | Mount Aso * Kusasenri * Kurokawa Onsen

From pickups to whole day trip and drop off, it is pretty straightforward and comfortable. I specially booked the first 3 rows front seats for my elderly parents. Both Gogoday mini van driver and tour guide Nanami are super friendly to me and my family! The driver was driving in fast and comfortable pace without wasting any time. My elderly parents were happy that they finally can understand, by listening to Nanami explaining the places in Nakadake, Kusasenri, Aso Shrine and Kurokawa Onsen, in their mother language. Thanks to Nanami’s recommendation too, we were able to buy the special souvenirs and yummy Aso milk and Aso ice cream! It was so coincidental that it is the uncle’s 86th bday when we visited his private garden on 16 May 2026!! Overall this day trip was really pleasant, THANK YOU!! Definitely recommend this!

Review for: [Buy One Get One Free] A Tour | Kumamoto Castle * Mount Aso Volcano * Kusasenri

It was such a great trip, with amazing arrangements made to accommodate the expected changes due to the Kumamoto earthquake a few days ago. Finally, head to Kusasenri (Crater Plaza) – Daikanbo – Kurokawa Onsen. Thanks to Lisa for taking such good care of my family. Her explanations of the sites were clear and easy to understand, in both English and Putonghua. I highly recommend this tour to any friends who are planning to visit Fukuoka.

Review for: Early Bird - Plan B | Mount Aso Kusasenri Kurokawa Onsen (Limited-Time Offer)

I booked the "Kumamoto Castle & Mount Aso & Kusasenri & Aso Shrine & Kurokawa Onsen" day tour through Klook, and the overall experience was fantastic! Itinerary: Being able to visit so many attractions in one day was incredibly worthwhile, especially the magnificent scenery of Mount Aso and Kusasenri, which left a deep impression. The atmosphere at Kurokawa Onsen was also wonderful, making it a great place to relax. Convenience: For those who don't want to plan complicated transportation routes themselves, this type of day tour is perfect. Having dedicated transportation (including the volcano shuttle bus) saved a lot of travel time, allowing us to focus more on enjoying the beautiful sights. Summary: The guide/driver provided excellent service, and the pace of the tour was well-managed. This is a highly cost-effective option, recommended for travelers who want to experience the unique attractions of Kyushu in a short amount of time!

Review for: Tour A | Kumamoto Castle * Mount Aso * Kusasenri Grassland (Kumamoto drop-off available, no return to Kumamoto)

we had a wonderful day everything worked out perfectly, Kumamoto Castle one of the 3 main castle's of Japan and was the site of the Samurai's last stand, next up was Mount Aso an active volcano, our 1st attempt was prevented by high toxic gas levels, our fantastic guide Thomas took us back down to the main station for a short lunch and by the time we ascend back up the gas levels had dropped and view points B2, C1 and D were open. After this amazing experience we then went to Mount Aso station for one last short stop, before he's back to Fukuoka, all in all I would highly recommend this tour, it was excellent value and if you are lucky you will get to see the power of nature and if you are really lucky you will also get Thomas our amazing multi lingual guide who shared so much knowledge and tips plus kept us all safe, a real top guy.

Review for: Course A (Korean) | Kumamoto Castle * Mount Aso * Kusasenri | Can go to Kumamoto, but does not return to Kumamoto

It was hot, but the weather was so nice that it made the experience even better. First, the melon ice cream and tomato cola recommended by our guide were absolutely delicious! Climbing up to the Kusasenri Observatory was a bit tiring, but once we got there, the panoramic view was amazing. It was truly refreshing and wonderful. I highly recommend that anyone visiting go up there! Although Koreans were a minority and most of the other participants were from different countries, everyone was punctual, and we were able to relax comfortably on the bus, which was great. You should definitely go on this tour. I highly recommend it!

I had a tour with the adorable guide, Hyang-yong Lee. Actually, just hearing the name, I thought it would be a tough-looking guy, and I was searching all over when we met in the morning, but it was a cute female guide! If you're assigned to Hyang-yong Lee as your guide, don't get lost and just look for the small and cute woman from GoGoday 😉. There were about half Korean and half Chinese tourists, and she communicated in both Korean and Chinese. She said she hasn't been learning Korean for very long, but she's really good 👍🏻. She is serious about taking pictures and takes them with real passion. The distance between tourist attractions was quite far, so the travel time was a bit long, but it was a more enjoyable time because I traveled with a cute and cheerful guide. She also recommends good restaurants, so I recommend applying early and finding out about good restaurants and tips in advance, rather than taking a bus tour in the later part of your trip. If you want to see Japan's great nature and Alps-like scenery, I recommend the Kumamoto and Mount Aso tour. 💟Tips for Korean travelers💟 My travel time was early October. It's hot even in the evening, so bring short sleeves. Parasols and sunscreen are also essential / Kumamon bread is like Korean Deli Manju. It's cute and worth a try. If you like matcha, try the matcha ice cream. I ate it with 1% matcha and it was still delicious / Kumamoto Castle has great scenery and is well decorated. Don't save 800 yen and go see it while you're there / The volcanic sulfur smell of Mount Aso is strong and can sting your throat and nose, so bring a mask / The Aka Beef Bowl at the New Kusasenri restaurant in front of Kusasenri can be tough. Don't buy it at a high price, and order another menu that comes out quickly. Since the time includes lunch, the time at Kusasenri may be limited / I recommend trying the soft serve ice cream at the Aso Milk shop in Kusasenri because it's so smooth.

Review for: Tour A | Kumamoto Castle * Mount Aso * Kusasenri Grassland (Kumamoto drop-off available, no return to Kumamoto)

This day trip from Fukuoka to Kumamoto Castle, Mount Aso, and Kusasenri Plateau is full of surprises. It was raining when we set off, but the rain stopped later during the tour. We were lucky enough to visit Mount Aso during a period of low activity, so we were able to go up to the observation deck and see the white smoke rising from the crater and the beautiful green lava. Kumamoto Castle's black and white walls are full of Sengoku period grandeur. Climbing the castle offers a panoramic view of the city blending into the scenery. The green meadows of Kusasenri Plateau, with its leisurely grazing cattle and horses, and the scent of grass in the air instantly wiped away all fatigue. Along the way, we also tasted tomato cola and Aso milk. The former was sweet, sour, and refreshing, while the latter was rich, mellow, and flavorful, making for a very satisfying culinary interlude. Our guide, Xiaodong, was conscientious, responsible, and provided excellent explanations. It was a very enjoyable trip!

Review for: Course A (Korean) | Kumamoto Castle * Mount Aso * Kusasenri | Can go to Kumamoto, but does not return to Kumamoto

I think it would have been difficult to get to these places without renting a car, especially Mount Aso. The scenery of Mount Aso is exotic and overwhelming. It's not a view you can easily see anywhere. For that alone, I felt this tour was worthwhile. Kumamoto Castle, honestly, didn't leave a special impression on me. I felt that all Japanese castles are quite similar. This might be because I'm not very familiar with the historical context, or perhaps it was due to the rain. This tour runs from about 8 AM to 6 PM, and approximately 5 hours of the 10-hour schedule are spent traveling by bus. Nevertheless, it was still rewarding.

Review for: Course B | Mount Aso * Kusasenri * Kurokawa Onsen

I didn't plan any of my Fukuoka trip, but I saw on Klook a day tour to Mount Aso, Kusasenri, Aso Shrine, and Kurokawa Onsen. It included a tour guide and round-trip transportation, all at a very affordable price! I really had to join! I must commend our tour guide, Zheng! He is fluent in Mandarin, Korean, and Japanese, and is very knowledgeable about the attractions and their backgrounds. He explained everything in a lively manner, making the whole trip fun and enjoyable! Turns out, being able to see the Aso crater requires some luck, as access to the observation points depends on the concentration levels. Luckily, on August 14th, the levels were yellow, allowing us to see two viewpoints. Kurokawa Onsen was also great! Zheng even took the initiative to ask each onsen, one by one, how many spots were available for our group of over thirty people 😆. A very relaxing day trip, and a perfect end to my last day.

Review for: Course B | Mount Aso * Kusasenri * Kurokawa Onsen

This tour itinerary truly surprised us, taking us to other interesting places for photos in addition to the basic itinerary. Our tour guide, Helen Tan Yingying, provided incredibly detailed and attentive service. Two things stood out the most: First, even though it wasn't part of her direct responsibilities, Helen actively helped me inquire about available hot spring facilities in Kurokawa Onsen and successfully found one, which was very thoughtful. She also recommended some snacks worth trying. Second, when we encountered traffic congestion a short distance from the Kusasenri scenic spot, Helen immediately decided to let us get off and walk 5 minutes to the attraction. This not only helped us avoid the traffic but also added a new walking experience. Overall, I highly recommend this tour!
