【Guaranteed】Kyoto Sagano Train, Hozugawa Boat & Arashiyama Walk

the tour was conducted in Japanese, but the tour guide Takagi-san was very helpful and friendly, giving us essential information in English. It was a large group but the guide kept a look out (and constant head counts) to keep everyone together! She would advise toilet breaks as well before the train ride and the Hozugawa river boat rides. The organising company ticket counter had many staff (some English speaking) to help assist in the exchange for the physical ticket. Hence, instructions were very clear. I enjoyed the whole tour, but my favourite was the boat-ride. Gorgeous views and even with my limited Japanese knowledge, I could enjoy and appreciate the humorous commentary by the boatmen.

all the guides were amazing. the instructions to get to the bus stop for the meet up was super easy to follow. the guide was super attentive and easy to follow and the river boat guides were super entertaining. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. loved that we had so much free time to explore on our own. highly recommend.

highly recommended trip, we enjoyed our Sagano Romantic Train, its a nice 25 minutes ride and the Hozugawa River Boat Ride was exciting.

Did this early December and still had some autumn foliage. It was definitely cold so bundle up, but this was such fun! Gorgeous landscape, fantastic tour guides (fun, funny, entertaining). nice to get away from the city and temples for a slower pace and activity that’s a bit different.

we really enjoyed the whole experience of this excursion! the boat tour was definitely the highlight as well spending time near arashimaya after the boat tour! beautiful scenery and the boat guides were funny and super nice!

Great way to spend the day! the bus ride to the train station had some sightseeing which was a nice addition. They give you plenty of time to explore so we didn’t feel rushed. we were able to knock a few items off the itinerary with this one.

The train trip was amazing and would highly recommend this. Our guide made sure the trip went as scheduled and smoothly. Unfortunately due to the bad weather our boat trips were cancelled for safety and we received a refund. However this also meant we had more time to explore gorgeous Ashiyama which worked out perfectly too.

this was a great guided trip to Arashiyama. Although it had been raining and the river cruise was cancelled, the refund for that portion of the trip was seamless and the substitution was acceptable. the audio headsets in the bus worked well with some facts about the area and culture we were passing through. although the guide did not speak very much English, all important information was conveyed well. would recommend to others.

really well organised and fantastic day - wouldn’t have been able to do / see all we did if we have been ‘solo’ - plenty of time in the Bamboo Forest , great well organised train journey and the boat trip alone is worth the money
