Couldn’t fault the breakfast and evening meals. We booked standard rooms and were surprised to discover they were 50m away from the hotel, the rooms were small and dated with old looking carpets. The bed was comfy and the bedding clean and fresh. The en-suite was very cramped and cold with no heating to dry your towels. The lighting was controlled by a key switch that was located on the wall next to the bed, you had to insert the room key with the huge key fob into it and it was impossible to get out of bed without risking hitting the key. The reading lamps above the bed were positioned so that you couldn’t sit up in bed unless you bent them out of the way which wasn’t easy. The pictures show the expensive rooms and the room we had was well short of my 4 star standard. There was a mini bar but it would have been better to give coffee and tea making equipment.

The location of the hotel was very unique. We arrived late in the afternoon so we just had enough time for dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. The next day was spent at the spa, which we both enjoyed.

Classic family run European hotel. Kind of quirky but homely, great restaurant food and superb location. Unintentionally retro and highly recommended!

The restaurant was great. The shower water took 30 minutes to become just warm. We had to park in back of our street and carry our own bags up a hill. Our greeting at reception was close to being 'hostile'. The area around the hotel is very pretty.

A beautiful and interesting small town. Almost surrounded by the small river. Interesting old ruins on the top of the small mountain in the middle of town.
