Beautiful hotel, breathtaking actually! From the moment we arrived the staff was wonderful, the restaurant was great and the service was very helpful and friendly. Everyone spoke more than one language plus English.

We loved this hotel. The only drawback is we paid for a terrace. The ugliest terrace I have ever seen. Worn furniture, industrial venting, dead plants, no view - it looks like a leftover from the old days. Don’t charge for this if it is unusable. Great service, great food - we will return. Just not to this room.

So I booked the Anantara hotel as it is described as a luxury hotel and for the New York Cafe. The New York Cafe really is beautiful. I booked with the hotel to have a luxury experience and to make the most of the New York cafe without having to wait to get in. I must say I am very disappointed with this hotel. I booked two rooms for a night, the first room the door to the fridge was broken, not allowing me to use the fridge. The 2nd room has NO fridge!! I visited on 28th - 29th June when Budapest was at 39 degrees with an intense heatwave. So we were not able to keep our waters cold. I made staff aware of this and nothing was done. I also was sat in the lobby and decided I wanted to go to the cafe for an ice cream before a reservation for something out of the hotel. I walked up to the staff inside the cafe (the side only for guests) and asked if we were able to take the empty table to sit down and have a drink and a snack. I was told it wouldn't be a problem but I needed to speak with the reservation team first. So I went to ask the reservation team. They then stated they needed to wait as the supervisors were all in a meeting.. Which was confusing. Why did I need to wait for them to finish their meeting? But I sat and waited... I waited for a table at the new york cafe as a paying guest at the hotel.. I then chased the staff again after 10 minutes and I was told to wait again. After another 10 minutes I left as I was fed up of waiting. Poor service, I wouldn't recommend.

An absolutely beautiful hotel and very helpful staff. A pleasant surprise was the New York café as part of the hotel. It’s rare to find a hotel these days that is just not beige and beige and beige.

The reason I booked the hotel was for the New York Cafe and the breakfast the next day at the Cafe as well. Since you get to sit in the White Room and you get better views and pictures. The staff at the restaurant was superb and friendly, but not so much when you check in at the front desk. The Hotel amenities are older for the price of $627+ a night and location not very close to the river. When we checked in they had us in twin beds and had to call to have them connect them to a king like I booked it. I’m glad I booked this hotel only for one night and then moved to a closer hotel by the river still high end and modern with newer amenities, as well as closer to more attractions.

Beautiful room in a historic hotel with access to the incredibly beautiful New York Cafe.

This property is outstanding! So beautiful there are lineups outside every single day just to dine in the cafe. The staff are very attentive and the rooms are amazing as well. Loved our stay here!
