Υπέροχα
Ideally located close to the town centre. The Chequers provides clean, comfortable accomodation. The building itself is rather jaded and would benefit from a bit of TLC. Having said that, our small double was well equipped with furniture, bottled water, tea and coffee making facilities, an iron and ironing board and a clean bathroom. Water pressure on the shower was good. Breakfast was varied, plentiful and tasty. The staff in the restaurant and bar were excellent. The restaurant menu , like the hotel, was a little tired. Don't be fooled by the 'Smokehouse' name into expecting a BBQ restaurant. It's definitely a 'pub grub' restaurant. Ample parking available.

I will not be staying at checkers again. As you know weather in uk in quite hot at present so loss of power to all plugs was very bad. Room was on second floor so very hot. With no fans had to open window. But then traffic noise as on main road very bad.

A quirky but clean and comfortable hotel. Ideal for what we needed. Ample parking. Bathroom was a little tatty and tired though. But beds were comfortable and clean

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Chequers. The hotel is clean, well kept and convenient for all local amenities. The staff were very professional and polite and happy to help at every turn. Highlight for me, apart from the location, was the plentiful parking available and the breakfast was delightful and incredibly good value for money. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and highly recommended.
