Yuki-san was so helpful!
Even though she knows very little English, she still tries to give us gentle reminders about the food i.e. there's a small shell on the prawn.

Φανταστικό What an amazing experience. After a 10 hour flight and a 3 hour train ride all I wanted was a soak in the onsen and a comfy night sleep. It delivered on that and more. It was close to the train station, easy check-in, friendly staff, and the onsen was completely empty; all to myself after all that travel. In the morning they served me a multi-course breakfast. It put American “free continental breakfast” to shame. Next time I’ll spend more than one night here.

This is by far the best hotel experience we've had in Japan. The Japanese style room was large and well appointed, with thick foam futons. The tatami was clean and in good condition. We also enjoyed the fully stocked minibar.
Onsen facilities are clean and well managed. You can enjoy the sound of the nearby river as you bathe.
The standout feature however is the food. It was fantastic throughout our stay, but on our last night we were given an increible sashimi banquet and waigu steak!
Our servers Fifi-san and Yoko-san took very good care of us during our stay. Thank you for making it a wonderful experience. I would recommend Suimeisou to anybody looking for a Ryokan in Hakone.

Great ryokan with comfortable tatami and lovely private onsen! You must get the kaiseki dinner and/or breakfast..worth the experience!

If you want to stay in a traditional ryokan in Hakone, this is the place to stay! We had our own private outdoor bath and there is a private onsen you can book on the top floor. The staff is very friendly and went above and beyond. It was my fiancé's birthday and they ordered a cake for him upon my request. When we go back to Hakone, we will definitely be staying here again.
