Hotel Route - Inn Hirosaki-Joto

The property and rooms appear to be quite old everything was very basic nothing to be impressed with by any means. The cleaning staff came into my room and it looked like they went through my things, I’ve never experienced that and I’m not one to say something like this loosely because it’s a serious issue but it was evident and I think that’s unacceptable. The towels they left in my room were old and dirty.

Clean room and staffs are nice. They can communicate with simple English making my stay much more comfortable.

Average room size, friendly staff, ample car parking spaces. Breakfast can be skipped though it's included!

Nice, and affordable. Better than comparable chained hotel in Japan. Breakfast not so attractive, just better than ToyokoZ's.

Nice hotel close to Hirosaki Castle and other local attractions.

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Route-Inn before a test the next day. The room was your basic Japanese hotel which is on the smaller size, but we were only staying for 1 night so it wasn't an issue. I guess I didn't read the hotel description as well as I thought, so I was pleasantly surprised by the onsen and the complimentary breakfast. Both were fantastic, although the women's bath could only fit 4-6 people. The parking lot was big and could fit a lot of cars, but the stalls were pretty narrow. The hotel isn't THAT close to any train stations, so I don't really recommend staying here unless you have a car. But there's a convenience store right across from the hotel, along with a Sega Game Arcade~ Anyway, I would totally stay at Hotel Route-Inn Hirosaki-Joto and other Hotel Route-Inn locations again!

This hotel was at Joto which is not walkable (3km) to town centre so do not mix it up with the Route Inn at Eki-mae which is literally at the JR station in town. Having discovered our mistake we took a loop bus from the station but the service finished at around 4-5pm. There was very little to see or do around the hotel and no gardens. There was a small public bath open all afternoon and a part of the morning. The reception area had chairs and tables but wasn't a relaxing lounge type but more of a waiting area atmosphere. It seemed more suitable to drivers being easily accessible off the main road and parking.There was a Family Mart across the road but no alternative restaurants to the hotel that we saw. There were quite a lot of work men staying there when we visited and I would describe it as being functional and clean with friendly enough staff and adequate facilities but no personality. Again breakfast was fine with Japanese and western choices but nothing outstanding or memorable.

A bit far away from the sightseeing areas of Hirosaki, but within walking distance and comfortable.
