Turning up to find the front door 'out of order' and taped up with red and white plastic hazard tape was indicative. No air con in room. No fridge in room. No making up of room at all for 3 night stay. All inclusive dining menu appalling until complaint. Use of spa and gym not included for hotel guests, a £5 surcharge per person was required. We refused and were only allowed access for our stay without payment as we threatened to cancel the 2 x £95 massage treatments we had already booked. Litter and cigarette ends scatted everywhere in the general access outside spaces such as the restaurant terrace. The standard of cleanliness was generally appalling. Most of the willing staff were not particularly able and most of the more able staff were not particularly willing. Non dairy white coffee was an issue at breakfast, we insisted one morning and it was done through 'gritted teeth' and the next morning it was refused. The hours for breakfast are all wrong. 07-09 on weekdays and 07-10 at weekends. Both sessions end half an hour early and were policed with unnecessary rigor. The price of everything was 'top-end' and the value of much of it 'mid to lower end'. eg 2 x G&T £ 27.00. We played 9 holes of golf twice, the course was very good and not busy at the late afternoon tee times we had, but it felt very expensive to play and also to hire very average clubs. We just spent the one hour drive back home talking non-stop about how unnecessarly poor this experience was. Not recommended

Reception staff were absolutely useless, patronising and just a bit dim. Very unhelpful.

Hotel is very nice, rooms lovely and seemed our room had recently been up dated as we could smell the new carpet. It's a shame that you are not very well advised in advance that there is a £5 per person charge for the spa facilities (pool). Will stay again if we are that way.

Unfortunately the hotel pumps in am air freshener that is overwhelming. There was no air-conditioning so even with a fan the room was very hot. The room had a frosted sky light over the bed do it was very bright early morning. There were only 4 channels on the TV and you had to pay £5 to use the pool. The hotel is quite dated

room was lovely bed was so comfy , view was not great though and bathroom could done being bit bigger but very happy with stay

Amazing grounds to stroll through. Reception staff brilliant, room clean spacious everything you need. Breakfast fresh hot food, plentiful to choose from and dine in an area that was clean and inviting. We shall return

Room was pretty clean but felt like I had walked into a time paradox as the room felt like it was from the 90's, bed skirt was damaged and the bath also heavily stained and damaged as well. Quiet location and slept pretty well but I always search for a hotel with a gym however expedia needs to start filtering hotels like this out as a basic room costing into 3 figures and then im being asked to pay to use the gym which is totally out of order in my opinion. The bar was obscenely expensive (£4.85 for a soft drink) and the bar tender dipping the glass into the ice as well a massive H&S issue so didnt bother with dinner and breakfast was also not included either. As a whole not the worst place ive been but unlikely to stop here again

The place is nice and value for money, but they have to step up on their cleaning standard
