Language can be a bit of a problem but the hotel and spa are really great. The spa is clean, the sauna rooms in the spa area are great. The hotel has upper floors that include time in the private hot tub if you are not ready for the public hot tubs yet. Views of the harbor are really nice.

The rooms at Excellency Floors are spacious with magnificent ocean views and kaiseki dinner & buffet breakfast which included are beyond my expectations. All the onsens i tried during my stay especially the ones in the private rooms are like a retreat experience that can cleanse the mind, body and soul. Highly recommended for couples & family trips.

Overall they represent the highest level of excellence. The only thing for me was loud air conditioning vent which i couldn’t stop as the property custodians didn’t care to translate the instruction to English. Too bad, I could have sleep entire night instead of half.

The property has a lovely relaxing resort feel which was welcome after the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Kyoto ! The rooms are very spacious .. we upgraded to the ocean view room which was definitely worth it ! The balcony and view was amazing ! The breakfast was a lovely inclusion. , enough Western options . We had dinner there as well and was good . Tried out the onsen which was very relaxing and did help my sore joints ! The town of Atami is a bit run down , but the temple is nice and pics from the top of the ropeway were okay for a walk around but not much to do/ see .

A good place to stay and relax. Only down side is that there are some communication barriers since I don't speak Japanese and the staff doesn't really speak English, but they did try their best to communicate with you, things like prepared cards and using translation app on their cell phone.
