Excellent location, room quite small, just suitable for 2 adults, check in process slow. Others than that, great.

I had a great stay at Hotel Penaga and loved the experience of staying in a heritage hotel. I especially liked the antique Chinese and Malay furnishings. The hotel is in a great location for Penang tourist sites, about a 10–15 minute walk away. Staff recommended a great place (Bee Hwa Cafe) for Nyonya Assam Laksa and white Curry mee which was only a few mins walk away from the Hotel The hotel breakfast was nice and varied. Our room (Hutton Deluxe Twin Room) was very spacious and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Penang.

Love the open concept with lush green design. Love the cats! love the ID in the rooms. Rooms & hotel common area are clean and well maintained. Friendly front desk staffs. noise wise you can hear the loud music from the bar but I slept late so it was already quiet by the time I slept. I could also hear other guests opening & closing their room doors but it seems sound insulation is a common issue among hotels in Penang. There's a thrift shop in the hotel, I didn't have time to visit but will definitely go back again.

Absolutely nice place to stay ! I’ve stayed for 2nights in the mixed dome. they even provided working space upstairs without needing to go down at the cafe

The hotel has poor soundproofing, and the pillows are too high. There's a 24-hour front desk with staff, and free luggage storage is available. It's also not far from the old town.
