We were not told about brining our own towels until we were already in Scotland. The door was hard to lock and there was no internet. The water in the shower pressure came and went.

The place is very quiet, clean and good location. It was a little difficult to find the address and how to check in , but was my mistake to expect reception. Actually I really appreciated their way of checking in.

I was messaged that I would need to self check in on arrival which wasn't an issue but no details were sent on which room number I was or where/ how to collect key. The number provided took many attempts to contact. The site is very run down, rooms in poor condition, not even dispensed hand soap in the bathrooms and I expected dispensed shower gel but absolutely nothing. The site has been run into the ground, room dirty and bedding all stained. Mattresses have had their day, a really terrible experience for a £90 a night stay!!! I would avoid and take a tent or sleep in your car for better comfort

1st, the location of this hostel is not where it shows on the map. 2nd make sure you pay close attention to how to properly LOCK the door, people will just walk in otherwise. 3rd the earliest the kitchen is open is 7:30 am. Aside from these points, this location is a great value for the money and the area. We were able to get to Lochness/Urquhart Castle ruins in 15 minutes by car. We had 4 adults in our room. 3 beds, bedding, toilet, a roll of toilet paper, shower, hot water, working heat, and UK plug-ins all provided and worked properly. (Bring your own towels.) We were very pleased with the accommodations and recommend for a basic, economical, no frills stay. Thank you for providing this safe, convenient option for those on a budget.

It simple, just a bed and a shower, no WiFi in rooms , kitchen only , loud people next door , hear everything thru walls , but for the money was good

Freezing all night. Especially the floor. Had to call to get info about which room we were in since no info had been sent, even though I had emailed earlier in the day for info. Woken up by another guest after dark who knocked on our window to find out which room they had been allocated.

No heating, no hot water, stained sheets, rude care taker

We had received driving directions to the place, but no check-in instructions that were supposed to come in a separate email. We received an email at 11:17 that day saying their power was out...no follow-up email. We arrived anyways, and the place was deserted. Went around to all the doors, and the only unlocked was the kitchen. Trying to get refund, but have gotten no response. Had to book something else, last minute.

Cute place, could be lots of fun but neither the room heater or the water heater worked. We had to scrounge extra duvets from the unused bed to try to stay warm. And we couldn't shower because the water heater was in the blink.
