Hotel Keflavik (Hotel Keflavik by Reykjavik Keflavik Airport)

We did a family room with our kids and we're beyond disappointed, windows were open, there was a bug on the ceiling, the room was on the first level next to ev parking and it was so loud (definitely not soundproof rooms). The ac unit didn't work in the room so we were extremely hot, called the front desk twice to have them adjust but it stayed around 25-26 degrees C. The door to get to the hall our room was on was broken and boarded up. The lobby was great but everything else was maybe a 1 star hotel rating.

I made a reservation for this hotel in February 2026. When we arrived on the evening of June 3, we were told that due to a "maintenance issue" our room wasn't available, and that we needed to go to another hotel several miles away, and with a lower star rating. As other's have reported similar issues, it seems that this hotel will deliberately bump a reservation if they can find a higher paying one. The receptionist at the hotel we were sent to confirmed that this happens frequently. Do NOT make a reservation at this hotel as there is a good chance that if prices have increased you'll be sent elsewhere.

Wanted to charge 20 Euros an hour for early check in on a Monday. Previous hotel in Reykjavik had no such policy for an empty room. Seemed like an unnecessary money grab.

Good hotel

We stayed here the night before we departed Iceland. Glad to have picked a hotel near the airport for our 7 AM flight. While just 5 minutes away, it didn't feel like an "airport hotel." It didn't look like a lot from the outside but the interior was nice. Good blackout shades since it never really got fully dark. We did not eat at the restaurant (arrived late/departed early). Room was clean and had everything we needed.

Bathroom was quite small and the water from the shower was not contained to just the shower cubicle, making it difficult to dry yourself properly

Room was a bit old and outdated and thermostat didn’t work but they moved us to another room.

Just about everything in Iceland is expensive, including the hotels. Our room was very small and bathroom even smaller. It was clean, but you could tell it needed some updating, like the wallpaper of a rock wall.. Breakfast buffet was good and it is very close to the airport.

Nice hotel

Parking was difficult to find at times.
