A decent hostel nearby the train station. One of the first things the staff told us was that in Taiwan it's a policy not to throw toilet paper into the toilet bowl. That's not a problem, until we realized it didn't have an automatic toilet bowl and was not even equipped with a bidet. Do they actually expect people to throw used toilet papers in the basket after pooping and live with the lingering smell and bacteria, germs, etc? I heard that Taiwan government has been educating its people since many years back to adopt a modern toilet culture, which is okay to throw used toilet into toilet bowl for hygiene purpose given that modern toilet papers are all made to be easily dissolved in water. Hope this toilet hygiene awareness will catch on sooner than later in Taiwan. Other than that, I would totally recommend this hostel for its convenience and accessibility.

There is no way to beat the value for money proposition in this hostel. However, some minor and inexpensive improvements will make this place an even better choice: put in more hooks & shelving space. This is especially important for ladies as there was no where to our their toiletries.

The room is small but very clean. It is recommended for young people to stay. It is not recommended for the elderly because there is no elevator .
The toilet door is recommended to be maintained regularly to avoid rot and mold.

I booked my own private room and it serviced my needs. It was clean and respectable and a good budget option. The front desk associates were very helpful with all my needs including calling taxis when I needed them

Nice place; greeted very quickly and friendly. Short distance from train station. Only issue I had was in getting the receptionist to understand in the morning that coffee can only sit so long before it needs a new pot to be brewed.

Fantastisch Wonderful hostel, with super friendly and super knowledgeable staff. Got a lot of tips about where to eat and how to move around. Super convenient location close to the train and bus station (literally 3 minutes walk), and a few good eateries. All the facilities we could have wanted were there, including a washing machine, dryer, fridge, and even card games and free coffee and tea and water. They also gave us our request for a quiet family room (for our family of 4) away from the stairs, with a beautiful view of the mountains too. The one and only drawback is the hostel doesn't have a lift, so bringing the big luggage bag up and down to and from the 4th floor during check-in and check-out was a bit cumbersome, but that's only twice over the whole stay. Overall, enjoyed staying there alot.
