Athens Psiri Hotel

The inside of the hotel was very nice. The rooms were big. I had an elevator and air-conditioning. The decoration of the rooms were simple but comfortable while the location is right in the heart of the city. The actual location of the hotel itself is not in a very nice area. I would not feel safe, walking outside by myself at night.

We enjoyed our stay and it was very conveniently located. Easy walking distance to many things in the city centre: acropolis, shopping, restaurants, bus routes, etc. The hotel itself looked sketchy on the outside but when you entered in, it was very well maintained. (A lot of shops and boutiques are like that here, you wonder if you should go in and then - wow! A hidden gem!) The room was clean, and basic - didn’t really need anything else as we came to see Athens, not stay in our room. The staff was beyond helpful for every need: directions, wake up calls, ordering taxis, kettle for making tea, etc Would definitely stay again. (Note: there were no English channels on the tv but again, we didn’t come to watch tv.)

The hotel is in the perfect location. Really close to Monastiraki Square where there are a lot of shops, restaurants, markets and a very nice view of the Acropolis. Not a too far walk from the Acropolis ( around 18 minutes). There is air conditioning in the rooms which is highly needed. The staff were great, helpful and nice. The room was decent. The bed wasn’t sure comfy but good enough. The neighborhood of the hotel isn’t great.

The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful during our stay. One employee at the front desk actually told me I couldn't add any more milk to my coffee because I had already poured enough. It was such a small thing, but it made us feel unwelcome. The most upsetting part happened when we checked out. We left for the airport and, about five minutes later, realized we had forgotten my son's food in the room refrigerator. He has food allergies and needs to eat specific food while traveling. Even though it was only 11:02 a.m., just two minutes after the 11:00 a.m. checkout time, the front desk refused to let us go back to the room to get it. There was no understanding or willingness to help, despite the circumstances. Another odd policy was that we had to leave our room key at the front desk every time we went out and pick it up again when we returned. We also had to return the TV remote to the front desk. We travel a lot, and this was by far the worst hotel experience we've had because of the staff's attitude. A little kindness and common sense would have made all the difference. I would not stay here again.

The property was very nice with the essential services. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The air conditioning was restricted at a high level. It was hot during our sleep.

Clean, comfortable and close to Metro, Shopping and Restuarants in Athens. Have stayed here multiple times
