Beautiful Tudor style building. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Lovely room. Great food.

I was having a difficult day when I arrived but then I was greeted so warmly by Darcy and Gemma, they made me feel so welcome that my day turned around instantly! My room was charming and cozy, comfy bed, nice furnishings and a fantastic large old claw foot bath tub. It felt cozy and luxurious at the same time. The location was excellent for walking, restaurants and access to the train station. The breakfast was also great, with plenty to choose from and table service instead of just buffet as in most hotels. Be aware that it is an old building so you do hear noise from other guests coming and going. Nothing worth complaining about. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

Every single thing about this hotel from start to finish was perfect. The staff members at the front desk and restaurant were so warm and helpful, the entire hotel feels like you’re stepping back in time in all the best ways, and the room was INCREDIBLE. Both the breakfast and the dinner there were delicious. We stayed in a Superior Deluxe room that was so cozy and full of character I wished we had booked more than one night there. Very easy access to the entire town from here and everything is walkable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this town.

This is a well located hotel close to shops and eateries and the theatre is walkable. The staff were friendly and the room was clean with good amenities. The bar has a good selection of drinks and spirits and has a nice atmosphere with wooden beams and panelling. Well worth a visit.

Definitely stay in a “character room” for historic ambience. Staff is so helpful. Can’t wait to come again.
