Overall a good experience staying here. Only complaint was the front desk staff, perhaps were overwhelmed or understaffed to receive so many turists but were not accommodating at all.

There was no hot water when we checked in and they said it was going to be fixed. I kept calling and then, they said it was going to get fixed by 4am. I got up hoping to finally shower and there was still no hot water. I called and went to the front desk and they kept saying they were going to get it by the afternoon. I just wish they would've been honest with me that there was no hot water. I paid for 2 nights and we checked out of the hotel after one night and had to look for another hotel with hot water. Luckily, I found one for way less than what I paid for El Mapi. I'm very disappointed and do not recommend if you like to shower with warm/hot water after you go visit Machu Picchu. For what I paid for 2 nights, I didn't expect this.

Our stay at El MaPi Hotel by Inkaterra was overall pleasant, and there were several aspects we appreciated. The breakfast was very good, with a nice variety of options, and it was a welcome surprise that dinner was also included on the night we arrived. After a long day visiting Machu Picchu, that convenience was certainly appreciated. That said, there were two important issues that affected our experience. First, the bed was extremely uncomfortable for me. The mattress was much too soft, and for guests with back problems, such as myself, it can make it very difficult to get a good night’s sleep. I realize mattress preferences are subjective, but this is something worth considering, especially for travelers who may already be dealing with back pain after long days of walking and sightseeing. Second, I was genuinely surprised that the shower area had absolutely no shelf, ledge, or storage space for shampoo, conditioner, soap, or other toiletries. We actually had to pull a chair into the bathroom and place it next to the plastic shower curtain just to have somewhere to keep our items while bathing. For a hotel of this category, this seems like a significant design oversight. Overall, the hotel was good, and we appreciated the included meals, but these two issues would make me consider other lodging options if I return to Machu Picchu Pueblo in the future.

Initially thought breakfast and dinner included was a plus. However, no one mentioned that dinner has to be reserved and was forced to have dinner at 9pm. Though an alternative was offered for next day lunch it was definitely an inconvenience. Other than that it was an okay stay, convenient location but its a small town

Excellent overall! Very well located hotel. It is a very clean hotel .Staff gets a five out of five very well organized. Only thing is their showers are very slippery and my husband fell. They should do something about it , slippery tiles in a shower is not a good idea.spa is an extra fee supper was very nice.

Perfect location, nice rooms, sauna/spa was helpful after a lot of hiking Two real complaints First, the room doors were super thin, so we could hear everything going on on our floor and in the town, basically all night long Second, the food on-site wasn't quite what we were hoping for, could have used higher quality burgers and wings (both of which were hyper processed, not fresh at all) Minor point - we agreed to pay extra to check-out late (fine, that's not exactly unfair) But when the property ran out of hot water that morning, and the whole point of late checkout was kind of lost (so we could shower after visiting Machu Picchu), they stuck to their guns and charged us extra. Would have been a good time to refund the extra charge.
