Fruška Gora Monasteries & Wineries Private Tour from Belgrade

Located on the north of Serbia, Fruska Gora is beautiful National Park, abundant with countless flora and fauna – and home to 17 functioning monasteries. Regarded as the Mount Athos of Serbia, the National Park is not only a natural wonder, it also holds a great influence on the development of Serbian spirituality and literature, and is a flourishing wine region. Your tour starts with a pick up from your hotel in Belgrade. From there, you'll travel up north to Fruska Gora. Your first stop: Krušedol monastery. The monastery was built in the first half of the 16th century, and home to the most important baroque pictures of Serbia. Afterwards, head to Grgeteg monastery, which was built in 1471. Here, you'll find an almost exact copy of Hilandar's Three-handed Mother of Jesus. The last monastery you'll visit on this tour is Hopovo monastery. Built in the 15th century, the monastery is a unique architectural monument, and is the most important enlightenment center in Serbia. This is also where the famous Serbian cultural figure, Dositej Obradovic, lived and worked. After your tour of the monasteries, you'll be taken to some of the most famous wineries in the region. Visit Kovacevic, located at Irig, and there, get to try the famous Bermet, the wine featured in the famous film, Titanic. Finally visit Deuric, famous for producing Probus, Merlot, Pinot Noir and more. Walk through the vineyards, pass through the houses in the Winery, and enjoy a delicious lunch featuring traditional Srem delicacies, before returning back to your hotel in Belgrade.
