How to get Lao Cai: By Train (8 hours): Taking the night train from Hanoi and arriving in Lao Cai the next morning. Lao Cai Station is about 40km from Sapa. From Lao Cai, you can take a bus to Sapa, which takes about 1 hour. Alternatively, hotels in Sapa provide a pick-up service from Lao Cai Station. You can arrange this service with the hotel when you make your booking By Sleeper Bus: Sapa Sleeper Bus departs from My Dinh, Luong Yen or Gia Lam bus station (Hanoi) around 5-6 hours. The advantage of going by car is going straight to Sapa town without having to stop at any station.
