Start the tour at Schlossplatz, below the statue of King Friedrich August seated on his throne. This is the first of the many squares you will walk through in this walk through the magnificent baroque city centre of Dresden. We will weave our way through the Theaterplatz to gaze upon the Semperoper, head into the glorious Zwinger, take a peep into the courtyards of Dresden’s Royal Palace, walk along the 100 meter long Procession of Princes and end on the bustling Neumarkt with the iconic Frauenkirche, the symbol of Dresden’s rise from ruins. During this walk you will hear about Dresden’s long history from medieval, through renaissance and baroque times, to the dark days of WW2 and it’s journey to modern times.
