Hotel Okura Kobe is coveniently located to many shoppings, restaurants, and train stations. All within 10-15 min. walk. The rooms are bigger than the typical Japanese standards. The hotel staffs are attentive and professional in every regards. As an added feature, there is a convenience store locate near the lobby and limited items are available 24 hours a day through self-check out system. You will feel welcomed the moment you enter the front door and met with warm greetings from the staff.

This felt like quite an authentic Japanese experience from another era. The bed was very stiff, which I usually like, but in this case it didn't work for me. The vast common spaces were appreciated and the view was quite magical. I have never walked so far and climbed so many stairs to get to a hotel swimming pool. It was an adventure. The whole place felt like a grand scale hotel experience from the past. The breakfast buffet was really great, and the dinner was also good. There was some unexpected dinner entertainment which was fun. The clientele felt mostly Japanese which made our stay more authentic. I'd be cusious to stay here again outside of the low season, which was the case when we were there. Great location for waterfront promenading and relatively easy access to downtown.

Perfect hotel! It’s is perfectly placed next to everything you need and walking distance to the station. The hotel itself is very clean, spacious with great views, very classy and very nice staff. You can see the property is well kept and cared for. I will certainly stay here again without any hesitation on my next visit and stay in Kobe. The room was huge, especially by Japanese standards. Also one thing I loved was how the aircon kept a very comfortable atmosphere in the room, including the toilet

Some more maintenance could be done. Refrigerator was not working and when I went to check if it was plugged it, there were piles of dust behind. Toilet seat had some clear glue like substance on it, maybe residual cleaner. Overall clean otherwise. The facilities are starting to look dated but kept it good shape. I wish I knew about the free shuttle before I walked 20 minutes from the train station. Free Landry machines are a nice touch with QR code to check machine status.

The hotel is dated. There is an ‘old wood, old carpet’ smell in the hallways. The room also had an old smell but was bearable with airconditioning. Thw location was great. The view of the Kobe port was great. The staff was wonderful.
