Ophold alene

Conveniently located at walking distance from the STR (tram) station Mohnweg, about 25 min ride from the Deutz/Messe Cologne train station. The room was not luxurious, but clean and comfortable. Shower water heats up right away. You need adapters if you come from the US. There is no outlet near the desk. My room was facing the main street, which is very busy. I would ask for a back-facing room unless traffic lulls you to sleep (the window seals the noise out). Breakfast was excellent. Nice espresso machine. The staff is helpful and efficient. If you like running, the back streets are very nice.

Located outside of Koln, this hotel is well situated as there is an S-bahn (light rail) just in front of the hotel that can take you into the old town section of Koln. The rooms are small, but we'll kept. The breakfast buffet was large, with many different offerings for all tastes. I'd come back and stay here again if I'm in the area.

Dorint is conveniently located along main tram with stops within 1 block. Hotel is a 3 star basic hotel not exceptional but also not bad.

Absolutely amazing staff-a real credit to the hotel. They couldn't have been more helpful or polite, especially in a hotel full of demanding football fans.
