Love this hotel, well situated near train station, really helpful staff , lovely rooms with such comfortable beds and fabulous breakfast.

Staff very friendly and helpful.
Dining room staff couldn’t do enough for you and kept tables tidy and clean
Breakfast -disappointed with the cooked selection. My husband is gluten free (which I put on the booking form)
Bread and cornflakes available.
He couldn’t have the hash browns or sausage as not GF and there was only scrambled egg available.
No fried/boiled/poached eggs
When my husband asked the chap filling up the cooked items, whet was gf he was quite abrupt.
Will consider this when booking again
Apart from this we had a nice stay, hotel handy to get into York centre.

Hampton at York is not far from Train Station so that is a bonus. It is a lovely Hotel and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. No comlaints.

Lovely hotel but location would work better if using an uber rather than thinking you can walk dragging your luggage. With construction and cobbled roads and hills it was not a very pleasant experience. It is more like 25 minutes walk if you don’t want to be dripping in sweat. Great room and breakfast was great.

Fantastisk From the train station turn left and walk to the gate under the wall. From there go through the black gates of city offices and then turn right up the rise.
There is no ‘back door’ to access the property
