The sparkle and glitz that once was has been reduced to staff who don’t seem to care. Have no interest in whether you enjoy your stay or not. No interest in creating an experience or going the extra mile. Very standard. Dusty edges and ledges. Lacks finesse. If you want feel 5 star - stay somewhere else. Rain shower was lovely.

Our room was comfortable however We found a cockroach in our room. The staff were kind, considerate and friendly, Careem at concierge and Billy who checked us in. The breakfast experience was not that great. The staff seemed disorganised and overwhelmed, especially Juliette. The quality of the food was excellent as usual, however the coffee making could be improved - our coffee was bitter.

Stayed in the Wellington Sofitel and found the staff there much friendlier. However, the staff at the Auckland hotel were adequate! Just not as friendly.
