The property was charming, the rich colours flowed throughout. Beautifully designed. Breakfast was very good and the views out of the windows from the restaurant to the highland cows and Colin the peacock. Bed/bedding not the most comfortable although spend of looking. Very quirky.

The staff was exceptional. We arrived early before our room was ready and the staff took care of our luggage and directed us to a delightful afternoon tea while we waited. We blew an electrical breaker trying to use an American hairdryer and they promptly got the electricity fixed. They were very flexible with dinner reservations, working around our daytime activities.

This is hands-down, the best hotel in Edinburgh. The location, history, amenities, staff and overall beauty and quality are difficult to describe. You feel like you’re staying in a 17 century Scottish manners and essentially, you are. 12 out of 10.
