The room is in need of refurbishment. The fan was noisy, and the air conditioning was old and struggled to cool the room effectively.

Had a lovely stay at the hotel. Great location. Would stay there again if visiting York. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good.

Booked a double-double room for a university visit. Hotel location is excellent and the room was clean and relatively well equipped, if a little dated. Beds were comfortable and there were the usual facilities in there too (fan, iron and boars, safe etc..) The only negative point is that there is no air conditioning, which - given that we managed to arrive on a day that was 27c - was a problem. The fans helped but it was still a clammy and uncomfortable night. Even budget hotels these days have AC so if you're staying in York during the warmer months it's worth bearing this in mind - especially when we paid almost £300/night.

Perfect location in ‘Old’ Town - 15 minute walk from train station and 15 minute walk to York Minster Cathedral.

Standard room. Very satisfactory. Entrance was being refurbished. Safety of guests was of the utmost importance to the staff. A free glass of bubbles was given as a gesture of goodwill.

There was work being done in the reception area. But it did not affect our stay. The room was perfect. The breakfast was wonderful. The staff were very attentive, friendly and polite. I would stay here again. Very happy
