Most restaurants are close to this hotel, so we enjoyed a lot, noisy because there was construction in the service road [city),the room we stayed in was so small.

Fantastické

I loved the buffet breakfast. Although I didn’t use the metro it was good to know it was very close by. I’ll have to return and explore getting around using their mass transit system to see how it compares to where I live. I had a room that faced the alley, but I appreciated the quiet and darkness. The two things I would’ve liked is a microwave in the room and a more firm mattress. I would definitely stay again, even ask for a room along the same line with the alley view 😂.

Carlton at the front entrance is under construction by the city. No car access this week. The back entrance is under repair by the hotel, no access. Be aware, parking at the hotel does not accommodate tall vehicles. Vans, pickup trucks, or large SUVs We requested a room close to the elevator due to mobility issues. While we were told at check-in that we would be accommodated, we received one of the furthest rooms from the elevator.

Overall everything was great but it started terribly due to a very snobby desk clerk for our check-in. He refused to accept the only identity card that I had which was my carte d’assurance santé of Québec which is the only identity card that people who do not have a passport or driving licence have in Quebec and is also accepted everywhere in Canada and is a valid identity card according to the website of the government of Canada. It’s even accepted in the airport. He ignorantly said it was only a « hospital card ». If it wasn’t for the bad signal in the lobby I would have showed him the link that said otherwise. I’ve never had any problem doing my check in with that identity card anywhere else in Canada nor in Vancouver and others hotels in Toronto or in another holiday Inn in Toronto. Only this one desk clerk refused and he was arrogant and spoke in a condescending tone the entire time saying : « well here we are in Ontario », although I never had a problem before. He never responded to my question which was : then what should a citizen from Quebec who does not have a driving license or a passport do. At the end It was resolved although he seemed reluctant to even help us at all. But it did leave a bitter taste and I am not thinking of ever go into that hotel ever again

When we check in the staff was not super friendly, the elevators are so slow and always full, a couple of times we have to use stairs instead. Our floor the ice machine was not working, and the courtain in our room was geeting stuck. Cleaning staff was very polite and friendly.
