The room was awful and dirty. It was full of wasps . Didn’t stay and never got the refund they said I was going to.

I had made my reservation in February. We arrived May 15 and the owner operator stated that he was not expecting visitors until May 16. He then went on to explain that his housekeeping staff had quit overnight. All of the rooms were unkempt, dirty, and not even sweat. He was very nice. I swept the room myself. I will not stay there again. I had no choice as to the fact that I had concerts to Morgan Wallen and all other hotels in Gainesville were $12-$1500. I brought my own plastic sheets, as well as sheets and pillows and blankets. I did not want to touch anything in the hotel motel. Also, the bathroom window was open, which I did not realize until we returned from the concert. It was not a pleasurable experience. We literally left the hotel cleaner than when we got there.

We booked this hotel for a concert in Gainesville. When we arrived, there was five couples standing outside waiting to register. All of us needed to get to the concert in order to find parking before got too late. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for one couple to be processed. The gentleman who worked there was very nice, but was working with extremely limited resources. I think he did the best he could, but the rooms were substandard, dirty, and we didn’t get our room till 1:30 in the morning. I don’t want this poor fellow to lose his employment, but I don’t think this hotel should be listed on Expedia.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was honestly shocking. We booked this motel months in advance for a concert weekend and arrived around 4:45 PM, well after the listed 3 PM check-in time, only to find complete chaos. There was no attendant present, the posted check-in phone number did not work, and multiple guests were returning to the office complaining that their room keys did not work and that the rooms were unacceptable. Several people ended up leaving entirely while we were checking in. The owner stated he had recently taken over the property, but instead of acknowledging how concerning the situation was, he acted as though the conditions and confusion were completely normal. He told us our room was not ready and then offered us a room that previous guests had just refused. When we entered the room, there were towels spread all over the bed, visible grime everywhere, stained towels, an extremely dirty toilet with heavy buildup and mold, and a shower with thick grime in the corners that clearly had not been cleaned in a very long time. When we questioned the condition of the towels, he told us that if he gave us clean towels, he would have to go wash them across the street. He also responded to concerns about the room by saying, “This isn’t the Taj Mahal.” This was completely unacceptable. More importantly, the entire situation felt disorganized, unsanitary, and unsafe. We ultimately decided to leave and find somewhere safe because this felt very wrong.

Never Stayed...FILTHY We arrived Friday excited for a great weekend getaway, but unfortunately our experience started off terribly. When we arrived to check in, our room was not ready. We were told it would be prepared while we were out, and since our key wasn’t working, staff told us they would let us into the room when we returned. When we first saw the room, it was absolutely disgusting. It honestly looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. I didn’t even want to put our belongings down. Apparently, it was one guy there with his two kids, and he claimed the staff had quit. Honestly, I don’t even think there was any staff at all. Later that night, we went back to the office so they could open the room for us… only to find someone else already sleeping in it. 😳 The staff then attempted to offer us another room, but that room wasn’t ready either. We were told, “Let me change the sheets,” but the condition of that room was just as bad. At that point, we were beyond frustrated. By the end of the night, we were exhausted, upset, and completely over the situation. We ended up driving all the way home and didn’t make it back until 4:45 in the morning. Now I’m trying to get a refund since we never even stayed there. The guy told us he would refund us, but now nobody answers the phone. The number keeps giving a busy signal, the number on the receipt is no longer in service, and even Expedia hasn’t been able to get ahold of them.

Never again. This place was so unprofessional. Nothing was ready. The rooms were dirty upon arrival. Overall just disgusting. They were "cleaning the bathroom " while I was in the room. Beds weren't made. No towels. Just disgusting

We booked Soho Inn well in advance for a concert, expecting at minimum a clean, ready room. While photos online looked okay, the property itself appeared run-down and poorly maintained. At check-in, it was clear the owner was unprepared. He even said he didn’t know there was a concert, despite many guests having reservations for that date. Two hours after scheduled check-in, rooms were still “not ready” or described as “rough.” We overheard multiple guests being told their rooms weren’t cleaned, and some were even seen sweeping and mopping their own rooms. People were coming in and out complaining their AC or their keys didn’t work. The owner admitted the keys don’t match the new locks and that he has to personally let guests into their rooms. We also saw guests return their keys and leave. We asked to see a room and were shown one in unacceptable condition: dead bugs on the floor, stained sheets, and a bathroom with thick grime, hair, and used toiletries. It clearly had not been cleaned in a long time. The owner gave conflicting excuses and dismissed concerns by saying, “this isn’t the Ritz Carlton.” No one expects luxury, but basic cleanliness is non-negotiable. We chose not to stay. Unfortunately, because we booked through Hotels.com, we could not get a refund. This property should not be listed—it does not meet basic standards.
