This is a great place to stay! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was large compared to many places we’ve stayed at, it is a very quiet neighborhood yet an easy walk to town, and the breakfast is excellent! We only got the continental breakfast (which can come with porridge or overnight oats), but Sue puts out a gorgeous fruit bar with yogurt and a variety of other toppings that we feasted on (her hot breakfast menu looks awfully good too). We look forward to our return there after several days in the Lakes District. It was very easy to come and go, and there’s a convenient laundromat just up the street if you’re in need.

We only had a short stay and recieved a really warm welcome! The property is beautifully maintained with many elegant touches.The breakfast was delicious and well presented.Our room was very comfortable and with everything we needed .Would highly recommend a stay here.

Absolutely wonderful - everything about the stay was perfect - beautiful house, breakfast, and hostess ! It is no wonder that it is. 4 in a bed winner ( for those who don’t know it’s a uk TV programme where 4 guest house owners compete against for best guest house etc ) We didn’t know this when we booked ! We will definately be staying when we’re back down for the world Marmalade festival next year ! To the hostess - Wishing you the very best in life and this exciting venture you are clearly made for - you are an inspiration ! X

I stayed at the Brooklands guest house for a night due to a work trip so can't comment on its proximity to tourist sights, but the accommodation was close to the station. It was quiet, clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed including a kettle and snacks in the room. I had a generous breakfast before checking out the next morning.
