Room was clean and staff pleasant and helpful. Good choices for breakfast and parking was spacious.

The rooms we were in (41 & 43) are in desperate need of refurb, rotting window frames, very dated bathroom. Not particularly clean, very dusty and the room had many cobwebs.

Hotel is easy to find and has plenty of parking. Rooms were fine, with enough space and necessary facilities. We needed three rooms, and staff had arranged that they were three adjacent rooms, which was good. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very accommodating - we needed some breakfasts to take away for some of our party who were out running during breakfast service. Evening meal and service in bar were also good, even though it was a busy evening. We would definitely return to the Red Lion when we are in Fareham in future.

Good facilities and clean

The room needs significant refurbishment. Huge stain on the bathroom floor. I think the lino hadn't been refreshed in years. A shower that didn't have enough power to pump any water other than a fast drip, so useless. The breakfast was best skipped , poor quality and not well cooked. Even the toast came out not toasted!

Clean and tidy if a little worn, bed was uncomfortable as when partner moved so did pillows hard and lumpy

A comfortable and reasonably priced hotel

First of all, the room was silent, which is a huge positive. Really quiet and peaceful. The ‘king size’ bed is an insult to customers intelligence. Pushing two single beds together and calling it a king size should be criminalised. Properties like this are charging premium prices for facilities, and then providing some hashed excuse which barely ticks the boxes. The internet access is generous and works well. Parking is confusing. Do you pay or not? The shower head was broken and both the bath and the sink plugs didn’t work properly. There were wine stains on the plastic cups next to the sink, meaning they’re attempting to wash and reuse plastic cups, albeit poorly, tea and coffee is ok, Kenco, so at least it’s not Nescafé original. Mould in the toilet where it is poorly maintained. The bed is the main issue for me. Very poor. I had a rubbish nights sleep, and this is all due to the bed. Awful.

Just stayed a night before a cruise. Convenient and close to port. Just a little old fashioned

Very clean and comfortable beds and lovely room. The staff were very efficient and friendly
