Ať žije stará Manila! : Pěší prohlídka Intramuros

Velké poděkování patří našemu úžasnému průvodci Cedhiemu. Byl neuvěřitelně vstřícný. Koordinoval s námi přes WhatsApp a umožnil nám změnit termín, a samotná prohlídka stála za každý utracený cent. Cedhie je nesmírně trpělivý, přátelský a velmi informativní. Vzal s sebou tablet, aby nám ukázal historické fotografie a letecké snímky, jak oblast vypadala ve 30. letech 20. století, čímž historie pevnosti Santiago a Intramuros skutečně ožila. Měli jsme možnost prozkoumat krásné památky, včetně historických bran pevnosti Santiago a ohromující Manilské katedrály. Také se postaral o to, abychom se po celou dobu procházky cítili dobře. Pokud navštívíte Manilu, tato pěší prohlídka je naprostou nutností.

Prostřednictvím Klooku jsme si zarezervovali pěší prohlídku Viva Old Manila a měli jsme skvělý zážitek. Náš průvodce, Russell, byl neuvěřitelně znalý a informativní, sdílel fascinující příběhy a historické poznatky po celou dobu prohlídky. Navštívili jsme 8 zastávek v okolí Intramuros a každé místo mělo svou jedinečnou historii a význam. Nejvíce jsem ocenil, jak Russell propojil příběhy se současnou Manilou, čímž byla prohlídka poutavá i poučná. Důrazně doporučujeme každému, kdo navštíví Manilu a chce získat hlubší pochopení bohaté historie a kultury města.

I am a Filipina who’s been relatively good in her history class but this tour still gave me information I didn’t learn in school. Highly suggested even to locals. Steven was our tourguide and he’s really good :) he kept the discussion very interesting. Overall, nice tour.

The tour was very worth it! We did it under a scorching heat but it was bearable because Russell ( the tour guide) was so amazing and knowledgeable. as a Filipino, it was really good to be re-educated about PH history and as for my non- Filipino partner, he appreciated knowing more about my roots and especially knowing bits and pieces of what happened in the past. I booked a walking tour for my next written project, I'm writing a story, and para na rin sa historical knowledge while I'm doing my study. Gusto kong part bago mag sulat talaga yung location studies hahahaha. And during this tour I felt like a student again attending field trips. Na-miss ko 'yon. How I took those trips for granted. Mabait and sobrang knowledgeable din nung guide namin. Our group had 10 people, which was perfect, and all of us were catered naman. Halos kapitbahay ko lang din siya rito sa Tondo hahaha. It was a fun experience. I enjoyed this tour so much! It was worth the price especially for wanderlusts. Steve is a great guide! He's knowledgeable and dynamic and very engaging. We had such a great time learning about Intramuros, Firt Santiago, Jose Rizal, WW2, Manila Cathedral (and its 8 builds!), and San Agustim Church. We love him so much!
