We loved staying in Shimbashi. The train station is incredible. it connects to almost all the main lines, so we only ever had to transfer one time to get anywhere in Tokyo. It is so convenient.
Because it’s a worker’s area, it has absolutely everything you need nearby, like convenience stores, pharmacies, and tons of great, affordable food options. Walking back to the hotel at night can be a bit loud and lively since the local office workers are out enjoying the bars, but once you actually get to the hotel area, it is very quiet and peaceful.
The rooms were comfortable and kept the street noise out perfectly, and the staff was incredibly helpful during our stay.
It is the perfect balance of authentic Tokyo energy and a restful night's sleep. Highly recommend for the transit alone!
