Hotel Kanazawa Zoushi

We had a lovely stay at Kanazawa Zoushi! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, including a drying function in the shower area that helped us dry off our damp clothes and shoes from the rain (genius idea!). The breakfast each morning was delicious and filling, perfect to start our day of activities. Our food allergies were accommodated as well (we greatly appreciated that!). The hotel also is in a great location - close to Omicho Market and the train station, and within walking distance to the tea district, Samurai district, Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen gardens (but also on the bus loop if you don't want to walk all the time - very easy to get around).. I easily would have given the hotel 5 stars, but I had to deduct one star since we lost hot water to both our rooms the last couple of days; we were able to move to only one other room and so our sons in the other room had to use our shower on the last day. While inconvenient, the staff was great about moving our luggage for us. All in all, we highly recommend Hotel Kanazawa Zoushi!

In a holiday full of excellent hotels this one felt like a standout stay - a cute little building not far from the station (and, more importantly, the fish market, with genuinely lovely staff and excellent amenities. We arrived quite early, too early to check in, and were given a drink and told about the hotel before leaving our bags to explore. The room was delightful, a good size, a well stocked fridge of complementary drinks, a unit to dry clothes as part of the shower and a comfortable bed. There are complementary drinks in the lobby too and they also do complementary udon noodles in the evening - we didn't try those as the draw of curry was too good but they smelt delicious. My only regret was only staying one night.

Our best stay in all japan, comfortable, very beautiful everything. Wow. I inly we could have stayed more than 1 night but they were all booked up.

A really nice, small hotel that is central to all in Kanazawa. The staff were very welcoming and more than happy to make our stay extra special. Thank you again!

The room was absolutely stunning. I love all the wood work and pocket doors that divided the area. The choice in colors and furniture was very calming.

The room was cozy, the location is really convenient but still quiet. Free beverages anytime at reception was a nice touch. Very friendly staff and good breakfast. The only negative was the smell in the shower which seems to not have been properly dried out for a long time, the smell would go away during a shower though so was still acceptable. Overall I would stay again if I was back in Kanazawa.

This was my favorite stay in Japan. This place is a hidden gem, it had great walking access to the beautiful castle and Gardens, as well as the market. The details in the room, from the design and engineering of the space to the elegant and thoughtful decor, made our stay so comfortable The most treasured memory is returning to the lobby after 9 o’clock at night, having been lost in the rain for hours, (Kanazawa at night is a wonderful place to be lost) and we returned home to fresh, hot udon and tea. The soaking tub is also quite perfect. My daughter was very touched by the little gifts upon arrival and departure I will remember Hotel Zoushi when I dream of returning to Japan.

Wonderful boutique hotel with a great location near the market and within a 20 minute walk to most key attractions in Kanazawa. Our favourite stay over a 3 week trip in Japan. It's listed as a 3 star but was as good as or even better than some 4 stars we stayed at. A gem. The staff was exceptional in their kindness, professionalism and service. The lounge area with free drinks and evening noodles is a nice touch plus we received a little gift upon checkout with a personal note. Amazing.
