I rated it a 2 star as my wife and I booked a room and they only supplied a small ineffective fan in an attempt to keep us cool during the 42C weather. It was a horrible evening. I know a hotel doesn’t control the weather but in the event of very hot temperatures they can’t provide a cool comfortable room, they should then simply not rent the affected rooms. Lovely staff and nice hotel facilities.

Room functional and clean if small. Found the lighting insufficient but maybe it’s my eyes. Staff friendly, but very young, as one would expect from a place that has individual rooms as well as hostel beds in shared rooms. The place is bright and funky, which works for me. If you like exposed plywood, quirky wall paintings, games, and a popcorn machine, this could be the place for you. The breakfast was excellent: fresh bread and croissants, a choice of juices and cold cuts, granola and yogurt and fresh fruit (And one day there was bacon! Bliss.) The price was right, but this is low season. There’s a gym across the street as well as a nearby tram stop that takes you across the river to the UNESCO downtown in mere minutes. For a hike, walk to the WW2 German U BOAT pens, which now house art installations, in the opposite direction, as I did. It’s a half hour. Your TBM pass - I bought a 10 ticket one - is good on the river boats, an excellent way to get a different view of the city.

Convenient and central and competitively priced. Rooms adequate but small.

Liked the location of the hotel and wanted to stay later in the week when i was coming back to the city, booked a room directly on Eklo’s site received a confirmation, however, 24 hours later received an email informing me that my booking was cancelled without any explanation why which was very dissapointing and stressful as had to look for another hotel quickly. Don’t think will stay there again, price was good but the rooms feel like prison cells and there is no aircon. Breakfast was Good though.

Ive never stayed in a place so hot. It was 39c in bordeaux that day to be fair, but we arrived at 2.30am and it was significantly cooler outside than the room. There is no airconditioning. This is due to it being an eco friendly hotel. There is a poster in the lobby listing all the things that make them eco friendly. They have solar panels and grow vegetables etc. There was no mention of the fact they dont have aircon or sell water. Didnt mention on the listing online either. Probably because if that was on their poster or online listing then nobody would stay there. Despite our late arrival i briefly had a look online to see if we could find somewhere else and just forego the money. It was too difficult with two kids so instead we stayed. There were showers at 4am and 5am and my wife nearly had a panic attack at one point. I went to reception and asked for fans but they had run out. In 30 years of travelling to places like bangkok, tanzania and texas ive never been less comfortable in the heat. Fail. Also our room was at the end of a long balcony with about 20 other rooms. With their window open AND THEIR WINDOW WAS OPEN you could actually see their bed. A weird place that felt like a prison.

Stayed in the new building ,, very clean and safe ( lots of locked doors to enter ), room is very tiny ,,, max 2 people , good shower and comfortable bed

Definitely worth the money! close to public transport, supermarket, and has its own restaurant/breakfast/bar inside. Only downside is the rooms did get really really hot

They did not honour my booking
