Beautiful quiet resort. Expedia only shows one option when booking, and apparently breakfast is not included. À la carte menu is good, but just heads up.

A particularly lovely hotel. It’s difficult to think of a single flaw. The staff were incredibly helpful, facilities fantastic, and we had such a relaxing stay.

My experience at Bardo will always be one that I’ll always remember. The staff was warm, accommodating, very professional and helpful in every way from start to finish. The room and entire hotel was very welcoming, super clean and smelled amazing. Every single person on their team was attentive, patient and of great service. The decor and all details were all calming and sexy- this is the perfect place to go on a solo trip and romantic enough for a couples vacay. I got TWO massages and a facial. The Ritual massage created by Bardo truly reset me in a way no other massage ever has. (Worth every single peso!) I can’t imagine there being a better place in Tulum to recharge.

We booked Hotel Bardo specifically because we loved the boutique jungle aesthetic and wanted a calm, immersive Tulum experience. Unfortunately, the reality of our stay fell far short of the hotel’s advertised 4-star positioning. While the property photographs beautifully, several core operational and comfort issues materially impacted our stay: • Air conditioning struggled to cool the room effectively in Tulum heat and blasted directly over the bed throughout the night • Water from the outdoor shower flooded directly into the room • The door lock functioned poorly and unreliably • Lighting throughout the room was so limited that we repeatedly stubbed our toes on furniture at night • Multiple concerns raised with reception during the stay were not meaningfully resolved To be fair, the General Manager did eventually engage with us after we had already checked out early and acknowledged several of the operational issues we experienced. However, despite assuring us they would cooperate with Expedia regarding our case, the hotel ultimately refused to approve a refund for the two unused nights after we were forced to relocate to another property. That outcome felt extremely disappointing and unprofessional, particularly given the hotel’s own acknowledgement that some of the issues were operational matters that should have functioned properly. This review is not about disliking the “jungle concept” or boutique atmosphere — we intentionally chose the property for that reason. The

We stayed at both Hotel Bardo and Milam in Tulum over 10 days, splitting our time between the two properties, and honestly, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Both hotels are part of the same group and are only about a 5-minute drive apart, making it really easy to enjoy what each had to offer. They share a similar aesthetic — beautifully designed, stylish, and very “Tulum” — while still feeling good value compared to how expensive the area has become. The rooms in both hotels were exceptional. Genuinely some of the best we’ve stayed in anywhere in the world — spacious, unique, and thoughtfully designed. You can tell a lot of attention has gone into the details. Service across both properties was excellent. The staff were warm, attentive, and clearly cared about making our stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible. The food was also a standout at both hotels — consistently high quality and something we looked forward to every day. Location-wise, both hotels are well positioned near Tulum town centre, with easy access to the beach zone. We hired e-bikes, which we’d highly recommend — about a 15–20 minute ride to the beach, much better value than taxis and easy to get around and park. That said, Hotel Milam was on another level entirely. A clear five-star experience. The service was impeccable, the food somehow even better than Bardo, and the overall atmosphere was incredibly serene and luxurious. The poolside bar and restaurant area created a really calm

The property is beautiful, rooms are spotless and pool is amazing. We rarely left the hotel since it was so warm and cozy.
