This is a beautiful hotel with a very nice staff. Located within walking distance of of the Duomo Milano, the Castle and plenty of shops and eateries. They serve an excellent breakfast!

Actually, I am happy to rate this hotel 4-1/2 stars. During my 3 weeks of touring the N. Italy Lake District, we stayed in several 4 star rated hotels, but I really liked Hotel Gran Duca di York overall: the welcoming reception upon arrival, the very helpful staff, the great city central location within 10 mn of the famous Duomo, which was wonderful to retrieve to from the 90s temperatures in between my exploration walks. The room was clean and my window had a lovely view with trees. I had to pick up & toss some bug that probably was trying to cool off, but besides that, everything was great. The unexpected welcome touch was the several cool water and juice bottles in the refrigerator which were complimentary! I was also told of the evening Prosecco hour in the lobby lounge, but I did not have the time to visit. The breakfast selections were fine, even though my healthy diet wished for certain items like plain nuts, some mixed fruit cups (rather than individual cups of strawberries, or kiwis, or pineapple) to add to my plain yogurt, artisan whole grain/multi grain breads. The croissants looked like store bought instead of fresh baked from a local bakery. However I enjoyed the roomy bright breakfast area and the nice attentive staff.

Perfectly located with wonderful rooms, staff and amenities. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The availability of water and other drinks in the mini bar and lobby without extra cost was invaluable. The air conditioning was perfection.

Central location with good A/C. Good sized rooms with updated bathrooms. Very helpful and gracious staff.

My favorite hotel we stayed at in Europe. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious. Breakfast (included) was very good. Breakfast room was lovely. Waters and non alcoholic drinks in mini fridge were included. In walking distance from Duomo and many other sites and restaurants. Could walk to shopping as well. I would stay here again!

Clean room, good breakfast, very helpful staff, amazing location

This is the best place to stay to visit the Duomo or Galleria Vittoria Emanuele II. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Beautiful breakfast area with good food. We enjoyed the complementary glass of prosecco in the evenings. The room was not large, but I feel this is one of the best Milano hotels given its fantastic location. Near the Duomo Metro stop. 10 minutes walk to Parco Sempione. 15 minute walk to Cadorna train station. 25 minute walk to Navigli. We would happily stay here again.

Great hotel with 95% perfect! The only issue was the tiny shower that you almost can’t turn around in. It wouldn’t stop us from going back but I’d rather have a larger shower and lost the bidet!

The hotel location is brilliant , being only a stones throw from the Duomo and Galleria. The rooms are comfortable, the staff very helpful and the hotel well maintained. This hotel represents value for money .
