From the moment we checked in, there was a huge cockroach crawling around the lobby. It was pretty gross, and it wasn’t until I pointed it out and asked someone to kill it that the staff addressed the issue.
The rooms appear to have been updated, but unfortunately the bathroom was not. Our bathroom was very small was not clean. There was gunk around the toilet and the tub of the shower had a crack in it. I carry Lysol wipes so I cleaned before we used it. The shower wouldn’t drain, and when I reported it to the front desk, I was asked if I wanted someone to take a look at it. Of course I did, considering we still had two more nights of our stay!! What type of question is this ?
I also requested fresh towels and light housekeeping. We were out from 10:00 a.m. until about 9:00 p.m., so there was plenty of time to service the room. While the shower drain had been cleared, all of the debris and gunk that had come up was left behind and not cleaned. We also never received fresh towels, so I had to go back to the front desk to request them.
If this hotel weren’t so close to our family, we probably wouldn’t stay here. The bed was comfortable enough, but the pillows were so flat they felt like sheets of paper.
On the positive side, the property was quiet, and the complimentary breakfast was better than expected. The pool was closed during our stay, which was disappointing since we enjoy using that amenity on vacation, but I understand that unexpected maintenance issues can happen.
