Weird entry through a back alley was off-putting. But the staff at the Krone hotel (for check in and check out) were helpful. Room was of modest size, over-looking an alley. Noise from the restaurants did die down after 11:00 PM.

Our room was in the hotel magic on the fifth floor. Elevator only went to the fourth floor and a short landing needed to be reversed carrying up suitcases. We were there during an inordinately high temperature. With the environmental temperature matching the room temperature at 93°F. No AC was available. A fan only blue hot air around. The temperature at night never got below 90° so we canceled our three day reservation after one day and moved to an air-conditioned hotel.
Otherwise, the location was very good in the central part of the city good walking distance for all Major sites. Not that far to the train station. Due to the stairs and lack of air-conditioning, we would not utilize this hotel in the future.

This hotel location is perfact for old town and bridge. Room was clean. Breakfast Was not free. 7 minutes walk from the train station.

Check in/out is at another hotel. Magic hotel entrance is inside a narrow lane with people smoking and garbage bins. The room is hot and stuffy even with windows opened. The bed frame is old enough with cracking noise. With Expedia rated it a 3 stars hotel, I expected it to be a relatively good place to stay but it isn’t.

The location of the hotel could not have been better. Very easily walkable to all parts of old Lucerne. Wish we had known there was no AC, but we did visit during an unusual heat wave. Also know that the staff are located at a different hotel about a block away.
