We have stayed many times at Ibis Hotels and think they are well designed and well run. At Bremen City however our room has not been a good experience. All day and from early in the morning there is a noise like metal being processed. Eventually I found out that it is the steel roller doors from the underground parking garage opening and closing. Our room is right above them. Then there is frequently a smell of cigarette smoke coming in to our room. Again it took a while to find out why. It is because directly beneath our room is one with a balcony. The occupants of the room seem to spend a lot of time smoking on their balcony. Perhaps these problems are worse than usual because the weather has been so hot that everybody has their windows open, but the result is that we have found it difficult to sleep at night or to rest during the day.

Great location just a short walk from the main station and then into the centre. Staff were really nice and friendly and accommodated us checking in early and storing luggage after we checked out. Room was perfectly kept and clean, hotel overall is modern and clean and in a safe area. My only issue is that we arrived aboit an hour before check-in and had to pay €10 to check-in early. I appreciate this is Ibis policy but the room was obviously ready so why not do the right thing by your guests? Other than that no issue at all and would recommend.
