Esplanade Hotel Prague

We visited Prague for a week of Operas, 2 at the National Theater, two at the Estate Theater, and one a the Prague State theater. The Prague Espalnade Hotel is less than 500 feet from the National Theater (stupendous Dialogue of the Carmeltes, and Aida), about 3,000 feet from the Estate Theater (great Marriage of Figaro, and Don Giovani premiered at the theater on 1787), and 1.2 miles from the Prague State Theater (mesmerizing Jenufa), all within walking distance from the Espalnade. During the day, the Espalanade is at the heart of Prague for great walking of site seeing, museums, the Old City, the Moldau river (known in Czech as the Vltava, memorialized by Smetana's Ma Vlast), dining, shopping, and just sipping coffee in one of the numerous sidewalk cafe's watching the world pass by. The Prague Central Train station is a stone throw away, as well and easily accessible transportation for those prefering other modes than walking. To start the day, the Espalnade has a wonderful buffet breakfast with Czech specialties on top of the usual fare of American style breakfast goodies. The rooms are early 1900s classics with modern bath rooms.The last and the best of the Espalnade is the STAFF. One could not ask for a friendlier and more accommodating staff than the Esplanade's. If you enjoy operas, classical music, grand old European cities with all that they have to offer, Prague is your destination & the Espalnade is your hotel for commensurate luxurious, intimate, and friendy stay.

Everything was great, only issue was there were two large weddings there and the staff was pulled away to work the wedding and guest services suffered a little.

No ice machine or drinking water available w/o asking.

This hotel is outstanding, the staff are very friendly and hospitable. The hotel is old world charm. The breakfast is everything you need to start the day but the room feels like fine dining and the staff are amazing there. Short walk to the city centre and all the sites. I would definitely stay here again

Ideal location for my stay, a short walk to Muzeum Metro stop and a short walk from the main station. The main square is walkable. Staff very friendly and helpful

Excellent location. Minutes walk from the main train station. Stuff is very friendly. But the facility of the hotel, considering that it is a 5 star hotel, is not good. Air conditioner does not work. Shower corner is super small. There is no coffee maker in the room.

This hotel is a real gem. It has significant history in time and place and with significant patrons over the years. The staff was exceptional at the reception, the door and the bar/restaurant. The location was perfect, close to everything, including the main railway station, the National Museum and the State Opera. Could walk to most famous sites. The breakfast was exceptional, plentiful, with many choice on the menu. When I go back to Prague I will surely stay in the Esplanade.

No enough free bottle of water.

Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast.

We were disappointed to find the bar closed.
