Great, quiet location despite being close to the old town and main train station. We arrived before check in and were able to leave our luggage and explore.
Breakfast is as described on this site - a few bread rolls and croissants with jam / a dip plus coffee or tea from the machine that is self service.
The only let down for us was that our bed was only set up with one pillow and a single size blanket instead of two (it seems common in Austria to have two single sized blankets for two people rather than a double / queen). As reception had already left for the day, we were unable to raise this until the morning so one of us slept without a pillow.

The Villa Carlton was lovely. Excellent location , right by Mirabell Palace/Gardens. Walkable to sites. The room was clean and decor was eclectic in and old world building
