No air con or proper light on ceiling in the room only lamps Pill on the floor in the bathroom Desperately needs an upgrade, Room was priced at 170 for one night !!!!

Maybe my error but NO air conditioning. Ended up not staying as the temperature in the area was crazy high. Would not let me cancel prior to check in time very disappointed.

Per a negocis

Avoid when it's warm outside! Even though thier website initially said it has AC in double rooms they dont have AC (they removed it from thier website upon complaining). All you get is a window that barely opens, and a small table fan. And you pay premium prices for this place. I even met elderly couples that were given the same type of rooms. No notification beforehand that they dont have AC and staff was not helpful at all. Avoid at all cost

Public areas of the hotel need refreshing. Wonderful view of cathedral.. good sized, clean room. Continental breakfast OK. More fruit and I hate coffee machines

The room was clean and well presented, the bathroom and its shower were what let it down for me. Little water pressure and no adjustable head or the little hand shower unit. The bed while being a lovely four poster was uncomfortable and I wasn’t able to get a good nights sleep either night. The bells were of course a little bit of a pain but that’s entirely out of your control and I knew that would happen.

Fantastic view of the cathedral from our room. However the room and hotel were a little tired. There were cracked tiles on the bathroom floor, and the bathroom light switch was in a dangerous condition…arcing at the slightest touch. There never appeared to be any staff available and the buffet breakfast…well, don’t bother paying for it! You can get a fabulous breakfast at one of the many cafes available nearby!

Just don't book this hotel. From the attitude of the staff to the cleanliness and facilities, this hotel has no redeemable features.

The hotel is in a super location. My main concern was that I received a parking ticket. I paid for 2 nights parking at the hotel, though there are 2 permit places in the car park. There is not signage on entry to the car part and the 2 signs in the parking spaces are covered with shrubbery. The receptionist said they’d refund the Friday parking charge, one week later and I’m still chasing that refund ( I have emailed the hotel and the mailbox is full) I have also appealed the PCN. All this is extra hassle. Had the receptionist mentioned to guests that there were 2 permit places and not to park in them, that would have saved me time trying to sort this out

Staff were great! The room was clean. The location was great, right next to the cathedral, the high street, and walking along the river. We would definitely stay there again.

The view of Winchester Cathedral from my bedroom was amazing. All of the staff were extremely helpful and positive including promptly resolving air temperature issues in my room. The room was spotlessly clean. But the room felt rather tired with scratched and battered furniture and a dated bathroom. The decor in the bar and restaurant did not reflect the historic location of the building and seemed very generic and unimaginative
