**BEWARE – SAFETY CONCERNS** The location was great, but unfortunately our stay ended with a serious security issue. The building has several steps before you reach a very small elevator, making luggage difficult to manage. The apartment is also quite small. We could not find a safe for valuables. The unit uses a traditional key (not a smart lock), and there are no security cameras. We stayed for four nights and made sure the door was locked every time we left. On our **last night**, we went out for dinner just around the corner for about two hours. When we returned, we discovered that someone had broken into the apartment and searched through every one of our bags and belongings. Thankfully, our passports were left behind, but about **$400 in cash** was stolen. The intruder left everything in complete disarray, forcing us to spend hours repacking until nearly **2:00 AM**, just before our early morning flight back to the U.S. We called the police, and the responding officers told us that break-ins like this are common in properties that use traditional keys because they are easier to duplicate. We hope the host upgrades to a more secure lock system and provides a safe for guests' valuables. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we cannot recommend this property if security is important to you.
