Lovely hotel, well located, nice terase. Just a small thing: I had to log back into the WiFi every time I returned to the hotel, basically every time I left I got disconnected.

Good location. Service pretty poor for a boutique 5 star hotel. We were greeted with lots of free extras none of which were actually available to us. When ordering our complimentary cocktails we were told we had to go back to our rooms and present our check in form (quite a hassle as the lifts were slow) even though this was never mentioned. When we decided to leave instead no one was in the least bit bothered.

We had a brilliant time staying at The Principal Madrid. Throughout our stay, all hotel staff were friendly and helpful with all my requests. They were able to lend me an adapter when I forgotten mine. I requested two beds and a quiet room and this was fulfilled. The terrace was lovely and had a splendid view of the city. Although they provide a dental kit, their toothbrush is not nice to use - bring your own toothbrush. There are many shops around the area; some local cafes and restaurants. Very close (walking distance) to many landmarks. Their spa service is a spa room where there are just two massage beds. The service was excellent and you pay at check out. We will definitely revisit this hotel.

I had a medical emergency and had to cancel. The hotel asked for a Medical certificate but since it was the weekend I wasn’t able to get it to them so they didn’t wait and charged me the entire amount. Every other hotel/airline on the trip which I canceled on gave me a refund/credit except for this hotel. Shocking.
