Fantastic hotel, great staff and amazing restaurant….just enjoy

A very lovely hotel in the very heart of the walled city on the edge of one of the main squares; a hub for eating, drinking and people watching. The rooms vary a little and we fortuitously ended up with a room on a corner of the square and building, which had two balconies!! Beautiful. We ate good food in the their main restaurant on the square. Very peaceful and engaging. The breakfast was a little disappointing; over priced for the range offered, but overall it was an excellent place to stay. St.Malo Is a delightful place to wander and ‘soak up’.

Definitely choose the sea view room! Hospitable hotel staff! Great shower pressure! I don’t think our room had air conditioning but we did not need it with windows open listening to the sea.

Amazing location!

Writing Very disappointing experience overall. The hotel is old and does not match the price or expectations. There was no air conditioning which was ok and we could not even open the windows because of the mosquitoes. On top of that, the room was directly facing the ramparts where people constantly walked by, so we had to keep the curtains closed the entire time for privacy. As a result, we could not enjoy the sea view at all. The toilet lobby/common bathroom area was extremely dirty, with paper and trash left on the floor. This was unacceptable for a hotel at this price level. The worst part was the taxi situation. We asked the hotel to call us a taxi, and they ordered a large private vehicle even though we were only two people with one very small suitcase. We were charged 20 euros for a ride of less than 2 kilometers. For comparison, the taxi from the train station to the hotel had cost us only 8 euros. When I called the hotel afterward to ask why they arranged such an expensive ride, the staff was rude and unhelpful. They simply replied that we “should have asked for the price before.” They clearly knew a normal taxi would have been sufficient. Overall, very poor service, poor value for money, and not an experience we would recommend.

Amazing view of the ocean. Great place for slow travel and window open. Great access to hotel brasserie, and great for those who appreciate history.

Location brilliant, good staff and room spacious. Could have done with shower curtain on bath, and bedside lights, and the curtains didn't quite shut properly, but it was very clean, lovely big comfy bed, free coffee and water, replenished daily and really good bathroom size and hot water whenever wanted.

Great location in the historic district. Staff very helpful and welcoming. EV charger on-site.
