Wer auch nur einen Funken Begeisterung für Züge hat, wird dieses Museum lieben. Auf über 9.000 Quadratmetern taucht man tief in die Geschichte der japanischen Eisenbahn ein – mit echten Lokomotiven, interaktiven Exponaten und beeindruckenden Technik-Erlebnissen. (Sumikai) Über 36 originalgetreue Fahrzeuge stehen zum Bestaunen bereit, und dank Licht, Musik und Videoeffekten werden selbst stillstehende Züge lebendig. (ANA)
Das absolute Highlight für mich war die Fahrt im kleinen Minizug – in diesem Moment vergisst man sein Alter völlig und wird wieder zum Kind. Dieses Lächeln bekommt man so schnell nicht wieder weg!
Vom Bahnhof Ōmiya ist das Museum bequem mit dem „New Shuttle" erreichbar – schon die Anreise stimmt auf das Abenteuer ein. (Japanliebe) Für Familien, Zugfans und Nostalgie-Liebhaber: unbedingt einplanen!

easy to redeem ticket, the place is huge. there is a kids plaza with place for the kids to play separated for infant, toddlers and bigger kids, and there is a kids cafe too. for the mini train driving attractions, you need to download the railway app and win the time slot for the attraction. per entry for a family (3 person per train) is 600 yen. it's about 20 minutes per ride. one phone can get only 1 slot of the mini train ride. the exhibitions is big and really fun for train enthusiasts. there are other attractions such us VR (theres a fee) and diorama (free). all and all, it's a good experience.

muy bonito, mi niño se divirtió mucho, está muy bien todos los modelos y los extras en el museo. la terraza y restaurante muy completo y ni sindenganla tienda de souvenirs y gachapones. al igual que tú goshuin conmemorativo con el sello del día de visita.

Amazing museum! the place is huge with everything you would want to know about Japanese train history. There are lots of things for children to do as well. There are restaurants, exhibits, simulators, and a gift shop. Easy train ride from any where in Tokyo. A must see!

My experience is beyond my expectation. I never thought it's gonna be too fun. There are a lot of interactive activities though most of them are thru raffle. So you have to download their app before and enter the raffle and hope to win. I was lucky I got accepted in two of them, Miniature Train Driving and D51 Simulator. D51 Simulator is the best among them. It is so much fun. It really feels like driving a train with all the parts you have to remember. Also learning the history and seeing the model train from the past to present. It makes me realize the human mind is truly amazing.

easy entry through a long counter on the right by scanning the klook voucher to the staff. reached there about 1pm on sat, all sold out for self driving train! need download an app to secure the timing. will be back next time early! take note of the rotating train platform show at 12pm and 3pm where there will be a long train horn. a must to visit this train museum!

El Museu del Ferrocarril va obrir les seves portes l’octubre de 2007 a Omiya, ciutat de Saitama, com a peça central del Projecte Memorial del 20è Aniversari de JR East. El museu va inaugurar el nou edifici sud el juliol de 2018, i l’edifici principal també va ser completament renovat. Actualment, el museu consta de 5 estacions diferents: l’Estació de Material Rodant, l’Estació de Ciència, l’Estació de Treball, l’Estació del Futur i l’Estació d’Història. Amb la renovació, el museu va renéixer com un museu interactiu que explica la història de la relació entre les persones i els ferrocarrils utilitzant diversos temes.
- Exhibeix 42 potents vehicles reals, inclosos els de l'exterior!
- Experimentem el funcionament simulat de vehicles ferroviaris amb un "mini tren de conducció" i un "simulador"! El diorama ferroviari més gran del Japó també és una visita obligada.
- Centrant-se en exposicions interactives sobre els temes de "Material Rodant", "Ciència", "Treball", "Futur" i "Història", la rica història de les persones i els ferrocarrils es desenvoluparà des de diverses perspectives.
- Els nens també es poden divertir. Hi ha un parc infantil que indueix a l'aprenentatge mentre es familiaritzen amb els ferrocarrils.
- S'exposen diversos materials recollits pel museu durant els 100 anys des de l'obertura del primer museu ferroviari. La "Galeria Cultural del Ferrocarril" introdueix la connexió entre els ferrocarrils japonesos i la cultura des d'una perspectiva fresca.
- Els productes originals només es poden obtenir a la botiga del museu del ferrocarril, i també es pot gaudir de la cultura gastronòmica i del bento d'estació que han nodrit els ferrocarrils japonesos.
