Molly was kind and did an excellent job answering questions and explaining the significance of each stop. Even with rain, this tour was a wonderful experience and we were able to fully appreciate each stop at a comfortable and relaxed pace. Molly is focused on providing a wonderful experience and reordered the stops taking the weather into account so that we could see Qingtiangang first before the rain truly set in in that location. We got to enjoy reasonably priced authentic cuisine for lunch and had the option of being dropped off at Shilin Night Market or the original meetup point. I would not recommend getting dropped off at Shilin unless you are planning to do something else in the area as most of the market was closed at 4:15 when the tour ended. We asked and were told the night market would be open at this time, but it was not worth it. This added an extra 30 minutes of travel to go burn time at Ximending and come back to Shilin that could have been avoided with accurate info.
everything in this tour is awesome! from the operator to the tour guide they are all nice and professional and made it all easy for us. the tour guide is very informative and knows a lot about tea. we got a driver and a tour guide for this tour so it was a bit more special. Our group loves tea in general so this tour was perfect for us. Due to the bad weather we weren't able to do the hiking trail in maokong but the guide was super nice and let us go to the flower and jade market instead! i highly recommend this tour and Mr. JackyChan, you rock!
loved it! We had a wonderful time with David, our guide and got to see lots of animals - the museum is very interesting and we loved the tea tasting experience. less crowded, the gondola offers great views, highly recommended!
I had a wonderful experience with Tony as our guide. It was a small group of five of us, so we got to really talk and get to know each other. Tony walked us through the history of tea cultivation and how it's entwined with the history of Taiwan, and even translated everything he said for our one Japanese guest. The countryside in the mountains that the oolong fields are in were so enchanting, and we got to take our time and not feel rushed. The museum and the tea promotion center were lovely educational spaces. The tea we tried was so tasty and fragrant, I bought a lot of it to take home. The gondola ride was really cool, and went on for longer than expected, so we got to really take a moment to appreciate the mountain beauty. Be sure to bring cash for tea purchasing! I wound up having to do an urgent ATM run for my tea purchases, which Tony kindly accommodated. Also, if you're prone to motion sickness, the mountain drives might get to you, so be sure to bring some medication for that. This was a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Taiwan.
This was an excellent tour. Tony, our tour guide was knowledgeable and explained to us a lot of facts about tea in detailed. The tour was a great experience, despite the gloomy weather.
Tour guide Reina and driver Mr. Chan made this tea tour a great experience. Mr. Chan was a conscientious and safe driver, which made the day feel comfortable and relaxed. Reina was knowledgeable, friendly, and very personable. She answered questions thoughtfully, showed genuine passion for tea and culture, and made an effort to engage with everyone in the group. She also asked about our interests and tried to accommodate them throughout the tour. My favourite part was visiting the tea plantation and seeing how the tea is grown, followed by the tea tasting with a fifth generation tea master. It felt authentic and memorable, and added a deeper appreciation for the craft.
This is a fantastic tour! You learn all about tea history in East Asia, tea making, tea plantations in Taiwan (including the ones visited in the tour) and the traditional way of enjoying tea. Our guide Tony was very knowledgeable, even when we asked questions that weren't related to the tour, and also knew how to keep it light and fun. He also translated for us every time we were being addressed in Chinese, and he even took the time to and translate the content of the tour for a Japanese person who didn't know English. Couldn't recommend it enough!
this trip was wonderful! the tour guide, molly, she was 11/10. she is so nice, kind, helpful, and very informative. I had an amazing experience in Taiwan thanks to this trip to pinglin. it was so nice to see the tea plantation, and the lake. the best part is going to the tea shop. tried 3 different type of tea and my favorite honey black tea. the tea ceremony at the tea shop also an eye opening experience. my only regret is I didn't buy the tea pot and teacup. I really reccommend this trip and this tour Edison.
I loved this tour. We had a smaller group which was perfect. The transportation was spacious and had great air conditioning. Mr. Fan was a great driver. Our tour guide was Chiara and she was fantastic. She did an excellent job explaining the history, guiding us and assisting as necessary. I loved her enthusiasm and knowledge.
This was one of the best tours I’ve ever been on! It was peaceful, calming, and educational. Pinglin was lovely, and the highlight of the trip was visiting a 100-year-old tea shop run by Mr. Huang, a cheerful and knowledgeable tea master. He didn't pressure us into making any purchases; instead, he encouraged us to sample a variety of teas. We ended up buying some because they were incredibly fragrant and delicious. The Maokong gondola ride offered a fantastic view of the mountains, and we even had time to visit the Taipei Tea Promotion Centre. Our guide, Peggy, was amazing—very friendly and informative. I especially appreciated that we ended up with a private tour (just my mom and me) despite having booked for a group. The only downside was that it was initially hard to find the tea shop, but once we arrived, everything was fantastic. This tour is a must-do if you love tea or are looking for a peaceful escape in Taipei!
