Què pots esperar
Aprèn i entén com es fa el Batik i els processos que hi ha darrere. El Batik encerat a mà amb un canting es coneix com a "Batik Tulis". Aquesta és la manera original, o tradicional, de crear batik. L'eina utilitzada per aplicar cera en línies fines s'anomena "canting". Una eina de canting consta de dues parts, el mànec que està fet de bambú i el broc frontal que està fet de coure.
El taller comença amb una breu introducció a la teoria del batik, cobrint la seva rica història i el simbolisme darrere dels motius tradicionals. Els nostres instructors realitzaran una demostració en viu de l'autèntic procés de dibuix de batik utilitzant cera fosa. Després d'això, els participants crearan els seus propis dissenys de batik en patrons preseleccionats sota supervisió guiada.

This Batik Tulis workshop at Ozel was amazing from start to finish. Big thanks to Ms. Zakiah, who is such a welcoming and knowledgeable teacher. Getting hands-on with authentic tools, learning about Southeast Asian batik heritage, and walking away with a handmade piece from my first Batik experience made, it so rewarding and memorable. Left with great memories and a genuine appreciation for the craft!
A must try experience! The staff were so welcoming and friendly, giving us a brief but interesting introduction to the different batik styles and customs before explaining the methods to properly do the batik wax design. You will choose a stencil, draw out the design with the wax, then paint it to your liking! What a lovely and enriching experience. 10/10 recommend!
I had a wonderful experience with my child. Since I am not very confident speaking English, I really appreciated how patiently and slowly everything was explained to us. It was very helpful and made the experience much more enjoyable. We also learned a lot from all the explanations and information you kindly shared with us. I had such a wonderful time at this batik workshop! We learnt about the different batik patterns and their meanings, which made the experience so meaningful and enriching. What I loved most was that we didn’t just watch — we actually got to use the wax and paint our own batik piece, which was really fun and hands-on. It felt very authentic and engaging from start to finish. It was definitely a great use of the SG culture pass 👍🏼
