L'espectacle d'òpera de Sichuan "Shu Feng Ya Yun" de Chengdu és una perla radiant en el tresor de l'òpera xinesa. És un art popular nacional molt estimat per la gent de diverses províncies del sud-oest com Sichuan, Yunnan i Guizhou. Pel que fa als estils vocals de l'òpera, l'òpera de Sichuan es compon de quatre estils vocals principals: Gaoqiang, Kunqiang, Huqinqiang i Dengxi, a més d'un tipus d'òpera popular local. Aquests cinc tipus, excepte el Dengxi, van ser introduïts a Sichuan per companyies d'òpera d'altres províncies des de finals de la dinastia Ming fins a mitjans de la dinastia Qing. L'òpera de Sichuan és una perla radiant en el tresor de l'òpera xinesa. Shu Feng Ya Yun va reunir en el passat molts actors i artistes famosos de l'òpera de Sichuan, i en els últims anys ha tornat a reunir actors famosos de Sichuan per presentar cada nit un espectacle de "Clàssics de l'òpera, arts populars úniques". Shu Feng Ya Yun es va fundar el 1998, amb seu al "País del Cel" (Tianfu), i s'orienta a mostrar les autèntiques arts populars i l'òpera clàssica de l'oest de Sichuan a un públic ampli, sent un gran centre multifuncional que integra actuacions d'art tradicional xinès, actuacions d'habilitats populars úniques i productes d'òpera i teatre. Amazing experience as I booked a VIP ticket really early (a few months prior to my trip) and was therefore sat right on the first row not even two meters away from the actors. The performances were all great, you'd better speak some Chinese/have knowledge about Chinese culture to really get everything, but even without that, I imagine that first-timers can enjoy the show as much. Turns out the mask-changing performance was not my favorite out of all the ones we saw, as I discovered many new kinds of classic Sichuan opera performances I didn't know about. This was a lovely way to spend an evening in Chengdu, I would visit again on my next trip.
It is worth it to go experience Chinese Opera, even if you don't understand the language. All performers were talented and the costumes were beautiful. I especially enjoyed the face changing mask performance, which they saved until last. There is a souvenir shop if you want to buy something. Also, you can spend some time before or after the show to take photos in the garden area at the venue.
An eye opener into Chinese Sichuan traditional opera show. There are Chinese opera, comedy show, erhu & di performance, puppet show, hand puppet show and face changing performance. Very entertaining.
come earlier. the street where the opera is located is interesting. there is a nice park at the end of the road. the show consist of various types of Chinese sketches w face changing being the last. we took a train there and it was a short walk to the show. getting our tickets was easy from the booth just behind the ticket booth.
it was an excellent show and a feast of snacks that made us feel like royalty and unlimited tea and nuts. I highly recommend!
visited on 8 June 2025. Paid about 38 SGD for the seats in front of the stage and came with tea (refillable) and some sunflower seeds to munch on. The show was quite entertaining if you like traditional operas, puppet shows, 二胡 and 唢呐 performances. The star of the show was the 变脸。
super entertaining and you can try their traditional ear candling! the acts tell of famous folklore stories!

it's easy to redeem ticket. The show is impressive. You should watch it when you visit Chengdu.
